THE TWIST
It was in April 1966, on my sixth birthday celebration, not very long, after I was dancing the "Twi on the stage at the D.O.C.C. hall, in Orlando East, that my parents proceeded in same evening with the celebrations, by inviting their close friends and relatives at home, in the cottage of the nearby, Y.M.C.A.
Since I was still awake, and extremely excited about my birthday, I was allowed to stay awake a little longer. Little did I know that I was breaking the virginity of my ears to an unusual sound, watching some udults dancing to it, which was rather too strange for me.
They were all dancing to the "strange" music of Jimmy Smith and Lou Donaldson. With my disappointment , expecting to hear someone singing through the instruments, I went to bed, not knowing I was being introduced to one of the finest and smoothest jazz giants on the planet.

AFTER HIGH SCHOOL
I just graduated high school and instead of celebrating it with my friends. I choose to go on a bus for an hour's ride to my sister's to celebrate my graduation with her and her friends. What I didn't expect in our celebration though was experiencing my first one-night stand with one of her friends. On a early Sunday morning; Echo is getting ready to head to her parents house to spend the day with her family. There's a knock on the door. Echo opens it, surprised at the smiling figure of a male looking down at her. "Hi! Is Izzy here?! I have to drop off her notes!" The boys says holding up a yellow note book with Izzy's classic property tag written on it, 'Izzy Is Baby'. "She's not here right now. But you can set it on her desk over there." I say while moving and letting him pass. I close the door and walk to my bed, grabbing the CD's I bought for my younger sisters Evie. He walks to the door and turns the handle but it doesn't open. I turn around when I hear him struggling with the door. "The door won't open." He says pointing to the handle. "Yeah it's been weird the past week or two. You just have to yank on it." I say as I walk up to it to open it. But a loud static sound comes over the speakers. "Hello students of Clover University. It seems we've had a glitch in the locking system. We're not sure how long it will take to repair. So unfortunately you're stuck in the dorms until further notice. We're sorry for the inconvenience." The speakers make a beeping sound then go quiet. I sigh before throwing my bag on my bed and plopping down. I pull out my phone and call my parents, telling them what is happening and that I won't see them until they fix the issue in the system. "Well then. Guess I'm stuck with thee Echo Short!" The boys smiles joyfully before marching over to Izzy's bed and sitting down. "So you know my name but I don't know yours." I say looking at him. He chuckles. "Kai Wells! It's a pleasure to meet you!" He says happily. "Nice to meet you Kai Wells! I look forward to getting to know you buddy." I say with a faint smile before falling back into my bed and plugging in my earbuds. This is gonna be a weird... I open the doors to my new school. Eager yet bored, since this has happened so many times in my life. Im so done with having to change schools. As i walk in, i find my locker and start putting my things inside. I grab my science textbook and folder, and get ready for a day like hell. I walk into my first hour and get stares from all types of people. A jock who i can tell is popular, gives me a grin. Like id want that. I sit down next to a brunett chick.
