THE TWIST It was in April 1966, on my sixth birthday celebration, not very long, after I was dancing the "Twi on the stage at the D.O.C.C. hall, in Orlando East, that my parents proceeded in same evening with the celebrations, by inviting their close friends and relatives at home, in the cottage of the nearby, Y.M.C.A. Since I was still awake, and extremely excited about my birthday, I was allowed to stay awake a little longer. Little did I know that I was breaking the virginity of my ears to an unusual sound, watching some udults dancing to it, which was rather too strange for me. They were all dancing to the "strange" music of Jimmy Smith and Lou Donaldson. With my disappointment , expecting to hear someone singing through the instruments, I went to bed, not knowing I was being introduced to one of the finest and smoothest jazz giants on the planet.
