The Catalyst

Humans as a species are almost extinct because of a global nuclear meltdown almost a thousand years ago. But like all living things, life evolved. Mutated creatures crawled their way out of the ruins of civilization, along with other things.
An organization called Caracal swiftly formed to fend these monsters off, with the help of other mutants. These mutated agents were given the gift of changing into giant, flying, reptilian beasts that could ignite a fire with their breath -- dragons.
A group of these shifters, Troop 583, were tasked with guarding the only known map of the hidden, underground cities: the last of humankind. With their fort surrounded, a troop of human soldiers was dispatched to answer their distress call.
As the two troops were driven out of their base, they have to face the hardships of losing close friends, the warmth of making new friends, and possibly more.
Will the feisty, red-headed Troop Leader Clementine Roux of 583 be able to manage the trip to the councilmen of Caracal without wringing the pretty neck of the flirty, whole-hearted Troop Leader Oliver Martin? Will they be able to keep the cities' map out of the clutches of the monsters? Only time will tell.
