Darrell Edgar was an unlicensed splicer - a surgeon specializing in implants both organic and robotic. Operating out of a lab tucked under a dive bar, he had successfully carved a pretty comfortable life for himself, installing and maintaining various less-than-legal implants for customers he'd prefer to know as little about as possible. That preference backfires when a customer connected with the wrong sort of people dies under the knife.

Akropolis by hcedwards
9 parts Complete Mature
"Any thought you ever had; memories, desires, your fears and your dreams, are all recorded and stored safely in the Quantum Cloud for your eventual revival. Death is now merely a transitional period to the next stage of your existence. As a QUBIT (quantum processing biosynthetic), you will experience a life free of disease and suffering. Time is no longer your enemy. Regret is a thing of the past. Each new day brings the promise of endless possibilities, spent in the pursuit of your own happiness, guiltless with the knowledge that there are no longer earthly constraints to inhibit you. This is the life you have always wanted. Welcome to your new beginning..." Akropolis is a city at the end of times, a sanctuary where the brightest and best have been housed since the last Great War. A genome defect has afflicted the majority of the population and scientists are desperate to find a cure. In the meantime, man has found his own salvation in the form of the QUBIT (quantum processing bio-synthetic), an android that is capable of prolonging life almost indefinitely, and yet what makes them human in the first place has been lost in the transition. The ruling council believes that salvation is nigh, but whether that hope arrives in time is questionable. The city's future depends upon the actions of a few individuals, all of whom are struggling with their own mortality. Quentin is the boy who dreams of death. Mia is the tortured soul. Trey is the soldier that defines duty. Misao is the future of the ruling council. Claire is the girl with a secret that will rock the foundations of their entire civilization. Unbeknownst to them, the entire fate of Akropolis lies in their hands. Either humanity will find a way to survive or it will sink slowly into the sea of extinction.

No one knows her name. No one remembers the program. Fifteen years ago, Project NOVA burned itself out of existence - a covert military experiment designed to create perfect human operatives through psychological conditioning, sensory deprivation, and combat reprogramming. Every file was erased. Every scientist buried. Every subject presumed dead. But one lived. Now, the woman known only as Nova moves through the world like a ghost - a silent weapon-for-hire with no allegiance, no past, and no record. Her efficiency is legendary; her detachment, absolute. To most agencies, she's an asset. To others, a rumor. When a classified threat surfaces - something tied to the same black-ops labs that built her - the elite strike team ONYX is ordered to bring her in as a consultant. The men of ONYX - Commander Asher Vale, sharpshooter Reid Hawthorne, tech specialist Kade Mercer, and demolitions expert Silas Ward - have spent years surviving on trust, instinct, and brotherhood. They follow orders. They don't take risks. And they definitely don't work with outsiders. Until she walks in. Nova becomes the team's greatest weapon and deepest fracture. Her presence ignites suspicion, desire, and a quiet terror that none of them can name - because the more they uncover about her, the clearer it becomes: Project NOVA never ended. It evolved. It's watching. And she isn't just their newest operative. She's the reason they were assembled in the first place.

A Scalpel Between Us

26 parts Complete Mature

You're finally living the dream as a fresh surgical technician at the prestigious Halcyon Ridge Medical Center, where the gowns are sterile, the surgeons are hot, and the operating tables are murder scenes waiting to happen. Your first day? You nearly faint during a bowel resection, accidentally flirt with your assigned trauma surgeon, Dr. Elias Maddox, and then watch a patient mysteriously flatline mid-operation under the scalpel of Dr. Marcus Vale, who smiles like he's seen the inside of a freezer truck.....recently. As bodies pile up and nobody seems concerned, it's up to you (and Nurse Didi, your chaos-loving ride-or-die) to uncover the truth. The deeper you cut into the hospital's secrets, the more twisted they become and the more your heart inconveniently attaches to Elias, the one man you probably shouldn't trust in a building full of scalpels and lies. Equal parts comedy, romance, and blood-soaked suspense, A Scalpel Between Us is your front-row seat to falling in love in the worst possible place. The middle of a medical murder mystery.
