Dan était avec sa copine Océane et leurs amis dans son appartement. Il avait décidé de les inviter chez lui pour faire une petite soirée pizza devant la télé. Ils avaient l'habitude de passer les soirées les uns chez les autres car ils se connaissaient tous depuis le collège et désormais, ils travaillent mais se voyaient tous les week-ends. Dan et Océane étaient en couple depuis le lycée et s'entendaient à merveille, mais du jour au lendemain, il n'eut plus de nouvelles d'elle... Aucuns de ses amis ne l'avait vue et elle ne répondait plus à son téléphone. Que lui était-il arrivé ? Où était-elle passé ?

Sunglasses cost hundreds of dollars and "bags" were thousands. Everything had a label that said you spent a lot of money. People went crazy buying another house, a boat, a Hummer (at 10 miles to the gallon). I distinctly remember two couples, in their late 30s, who were shopping together in Toys R Us. They had a video camera and were discussing the "rules" to this shopping trip. The rules were they had to look into the camera and say what they were buying, for who and why. And the carts had to be overflowing with toys. It was as if they had dreamed their entire lives of doing a "who cares how much it costs" shopping spree at Toys R Us for their children. Just recklessly spending on a bunch of STUFF. That was 2007. And then came 2008. But, more disturbing to me, was the impact it had on families. I think moms and dads lost themselves in providing stuff for their kids and not giving their kids time. And I saw the kids suffer because of it. So, I did a little research and a lot of observing and I wrote a mostly fictional story about an upper-middle class family in the OC. It explores (it simple terms) what was going on in the economy and what teenagers really want from their parents...Complete

Not exactly what you'd call fair, but she never wanted a mate in the first place, wasn't looking for one, so it's technically his fault for being there. Despite what he thinks he was just in the right place at the wrong time, and she was not happy about it. Not. One. So when I found my mate in the centre of the new darkened club on 81st Street in Manhattan, I expected her to run to me and I would wrap her in my arms forever, but I could never have been more wrong. "Woah, hold the phone! What do you think you're doing! I don't need another of you wolves coming after me cause you think I'm your mate! I'm just a DJ now leave me the fuck alone!" When she shouted that in the alleyway behind the club something in me must have snapped, because that was when I threw her over my shoulder and walked away. Let me tell you a story of a kingdom that was once the most advanced civilization known to this day, a pinnacle of achievement that still astounds the universe with its grandeur and sophistication. Orm was on a video call with her friend, catching up after moving to the U.S. with her family. During the conversation, Orm unexpectedly spotted Ling, a beautiful stranger in the background. She was captivated by Ling's beauty, developing a crush without meaning to, and found herself focusing on her for the rest of the call. Afterward, Orm asked her friend who the person in the video was, and her friend explained that Ling was her cousin's colleague. That was the last time Orm saw Ling-until months later. When Christmas came around, Orm decided to visit the Philippines for a five-day vacation and reunite with friends. During another video call with that same friend, Orm saw Ling again, this time a bit tipsy, celebrating the holidays. The memory of her first encounter with Ling came rushing back, and coincidentally, it was the day of Orm's flight back home. After arriving in Cebu, Orm spent time with family before heading to her friend's house. To her surprise, Ling was there, one of her friend's cousin's close friends. Meeting Ling in person left Orm in awe-she was even more stunning than on video. Feeling nervous, Orm decided to have a drink to build up the courage to ask for Ling's social media handle. She succeeded and even asked for a selfie as a keepsake. Once back in the U.S., Orm initiated conversations with Ling, and over the next four months, they grew closer, realizing they had so much in common. Their conversations were genuine, and without realizing it, Orm had fallen deeply for Ling. They eventually planned to meet during the summer for a beach trip, excited to spend time together. When summer came, they met again and traveled to Siargao, one of the Philippines' famous beach destinations. They didn't plan anything romantic, just a fun getaway as close friends. Raymond hadn't taken five steps when the sack suddenly moved. He froze instantly and his skipping heart started running a hundred meter race. He tried to bring down his fear by blaming the wind for the occurrence but the sack moved again, very softly, and he knew that whatever is inside that sack is responsible for the movements. He discarded his fear and moved towards the sack. He looked around in utmost fear hoping that some of the scenes in Hollywood movies would not manifest; where police men would round up good Samaritans assuming them to be murderers. The environment was utterly dark and he could not see anything asides bushes. He reached down and pulled down the loose top of the sack and what manifested before him was the face of a human being. His heart almost stopped from fear as his prediction had become reality. Raymond's breathing was not coordinated at all and he had gone pale. The face was slightly covered with mud but the entire hair was immersed in it. From the hair, he knew it had to be a girl so he pulled the sack down to the waist line of the body with his shivering hands. He looked up and nearly died of fright when he met the eyes of the girl slightly open and in his direction. He started wondering if she was a spirit or a witch sent to kill him but then he saw how pale she looked and warded off his vague thought. He glimpsed a thick mass of blood on her stomach and winced internally. She started moving uncomfortably and seemed to be doing that unconsciously. He hurriedly pulled out the sack and threw it into the bush. Without even considering the risk of picking her up, he whisked her into his arms and made for his car. Raymond is already frustrated with his relationship with Tinuke his fiance but can't end it..... Not until he met Lucy in a sack.
