Ils avaient l'habitude de passer les soirées les uns chez les autres car ils se connaissaient tous depuis le collège et désormais, ils travaillent mais se voyaient tous les week-ends. Dan et Océane étaient en couple depuis le lycée et s'entendaient à merveille, mais du jour au lendemain, il n'eut plus de nouvelles d'elle... Aucuns de ses amis ne l'avait vue et elle ne répondait plus à son téléphone. Que lui était-il arrivé ? Où était-elle passé ?

Despite what he thinks he was just in the right place at the wrong time, and she was not happy about it. Not. One. Bit. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The name's Darren and when I found my mate I thought we would be together within a heartbeat, that one look and we wouldn't be able to keep our hands off each other. So when I found my mate in the centre of the new darkened club on 81st Street in Manhattan, I expected her to run to me and I would wrap her in my arms forever, but I could never have been more wrong. "Woah, hold the phone! What do you think you're doing! I don't need another of you wolves coming after me cause you think I'm your mate! I'm just a DJ now leave me the fuck alone!" When she shouted that in the alleyway behind the club something in me must have snapped, because that was when I threw her over my shoulder and walked away. Looking back, I should have seen it coming. Paige didn’t like that I went so far away to university. But it was going to only be for two years. She'd join me after she did her two years at community college. I thought we could swing that no problem. We were solid. But she hated the distance. She hated not seeing me every day. She complained that I didn’t come home enough. She hated that for months on end, texting and phone calls were our only form of communication. It wasn’t enough. She'd ask about the girls on campus. She’d gotten it into her head that girls were always making a play for me. I laughed and told her, even if that were true, I’d never cheat on her. She didn't seem completely reassured by that. The bottom line is, Paige thought she was losing me. She wanted me home with her. But I could never imagine the level she'd sink to—the trap she’d set to make that happen. Orm was on a video call with her friend, catching up after moving to the U.S. with her family. During the conversation, Orm unexpectedly spotted Ling, a beautiful stranger in the background. She was captivated by Ling's beauty, developing a crush without meaning to, and found herself focusing on her for the rest of the call. Afterward, Orm asked her friend who the person in the video was, and her friend explained that Ling was her cousin's colleague. That was the last time Orm saw Ling-until months later. When Christmas came around, Orm decided to visit the Philippines for a five-day vacation and reunite with friends. During another video call with that same friend, Orm saw Ling again, this time a bit tipsy, celebrating the holidays. The memory of her first encounter with Ling came rushing back, and coincidentally, it was the day of Orm's flight back home. After arriving in Cebu, Orm spent time with family before heading to her friend's house. To her surprise, Ling was there, one of her friend's cousin's close friends. Meeting Ling in person left Orm in awe-she was even more stunning than on video. Feeling nervous, Orm decided to have a drink to build up the courage to ask for Ling's social media handle. She succeeded and even asked for a selfie as a keepsake. Once back in the U.S., Orm initiated conversations with Ling, and over the next four months, they grew closer, realizing they had so much in common. Their conversations were genuine, and without realizing it, Orm had fallen deeply for Ling. They eventually planned to meet during the summer for a beach trip, excited to spend time together. When summer came, they met again and traveled to Siargao, one of the Philippines' famous beach destinations. They didn't plan anything romantic, just a fun getaway as close friends. The Final Smile
Raymond hadn't taken five steps when the sack suddenly moved. He froze instantly and his skipping heart started running a hundred meter race. He tried to bring down his fear by blaming the wind for the occurrence but the sack moved again, very softly, and he knew that whatever is inside that sack is responsible for the movements. He discarded his fear and moved towards the sack. He looked around in utmost fear hoping that some of the scenes in Hollywood movies would not manifest; where police men would round up good Samaritans assuming them to be murderers. The environment was utterly dark and he could not see anything asides bushes. He reached down and pulled down the loose top of the sack and what manifested before him was the face of a human being. His heart almost stopped from fear as his prediction had become reality. Raymond's breathing was not coordinated at all and he had gone pale. The face was slightly covered with mud but the entire hair was immersed in it. From the hair, he knew it had to be a girl so he pulled the sack down to the waist line of the body with his shivering hands. He looked up and nearly died of fright when he met the eyes of the girl slightly open and in his direction. He started wondering if she was a spirit or a witch sent to kill him but then he saw how pale she looked and warded off his vague thought. He glimpsed a thick mass of blood on her stomach and winced internally. She started moving uncomfortably and seemed to be doing that unconsciously. He hurriedly pulled out the sack and threw it into the bush. Without even considering the risk of picking her up, he whisked her into his arms and made for his car. Raymond is already frustrated with his relationship with Tinuke his fiance but can't end it..... Not until he met Lucy in a sack. "Mom, not today. I don't even know why you're making me go. Today is dads..." I didn't want to finish and remind her of dads' birthday. My phone kept ringing, I already knew it was Dakota, he's my childhood best friend. "Just take your brother to school, please!" She exclaimed. She looked miserable. I shut the door and smelled the freshly cut grass. I smiled to myself knowing it was my dad's favorite smell. "Alexandria! We're gonna be late, can you stop daydreaming and get in the car." My brother, Cory hollered. He hates to think about dad. He just forgets. I Jeep Wrangler and I started the car, Cory rolled down his windows. "Are we sitting together at lunch today?" Cory asked me. "No I want you to sit with your friends, I'll be alright alone." I told him. "Alright Alex, believe it or not I actually love you. And I love you enough to tell you, you need friends." He admitted. "Have fun. Love you too, Corky." I laughed at the name I gave him when I was a kid. He smiled at me then left into the school. I went on to go to a flower shop. I stopped and got out. I walked in the shop. "Ally, do you have my order, the cars running?" I asked Ally. "Yeah Alex, I have it. Your order for 1 dozen Chocolate Cosmos, 2 dozen Daises, and 1 dozen yellow Roses." "Thanks Ally." I grabbed all the flowers then ran back to the car. I drove to the grave. I threw all my stuff into my bag. I grabbed the flowers and I pulled my bag over my shoulder and got out. I looked around and saw people young and old coming here to see their loved ones. I saw my families graves. Almost my whole family will be buried here. My grandpa always said it was sacred. I put the Cosmos on my dad's grave. The Daises on my grandmothers and the Roses on my grandpas. I talked and talked to them till I pull my pack of cigarettes out of my bag along with a lighter. I put the cancer stick in my mouth and lit it. "You guys are probably really mad right now. Blame peer pressure in 9th grade."Kumpleto

It is 2008 and In 2008 the whole world changed. And not just because the iphone came out in 2007. It wasn't just the families of the OC Housewives that were living a reality show; so many families seemed to be all about "the house" and not "the home." Sunglasses cost hundreds of dollars and "bags" were thousands. Everything had a label that said you spent a lot of money. People went crazy buying another house, a boat, a Hummer (at 10 miles to the gallon). I distinctly remember two couples, in their late 30s, who were shopping together in Toys R Us. They had a video camera and were discussing the "rules" to this shopping trip. The rules were they had to look into the camera and say what they were buying, for who and why. And the carts had to be overflowing with toys. It was as if they had dreamed their entire lives of doing a "who cares how much it costs" shopping spree at Toys R Us for their children. Just recklessly spending on a bunch of STUFF. That was 2007. And then came 2008. But, more disturbing to me, was the impact it had on families. I think moms and dads lost themselves in providing stuff for their kids and not giving their kids time. And I saw the kids suffer because of it. So, I did a little research and a lot of observing and I wrote a mostly fictional story about an upper-middle class family in the OC. It explores (it simple terms) what was going on in the economy and what teenagers really want from their parents...Kumpleto

Dan is hungry, cold and fascinated with the girl that broke into his apartment on a Thursday night. Maybe it doesn't correlate but he becomes a criminal. --------------------------------------------------- His mouth hung open, none of his high school classes had included a 'How to Confront a Possible Intruder Lurking in Your Shadows' course. He let the world fall to the forefront of his consciousness in those seconds; the fading sirens included. The cheese dust on his tongue sat sour, he could not be sure that this intruder was not related to their loud blaring earlier in the night. He swallowed the uncertainty. The intruder spoke first and they were not even polite about it. "Do you plan on finishing those chips or can I get some to go?" The voice had a noticeable soprano lilt to it, still, she sounded rough. Regardless, Dan frowned at her tone. That and the flutter of his heart as it recognized her voice. Dan's little sister had a habit of critiquing him, not always in a constructive way either. One thing she usually mentioned that she envied was his ability to recall details well; in her words, he 'majored on the minor but it only benefitted him'. He had never disputed her but he was not sure if having perfect recollection of the voice of a girl who threatened to drown him two years ago when he had inconvenienced her - he was not sure if that would benefit him. "Whether I finish them or not, if you want some you would have to sit with me, like a respectable guest, and we can share." Maybe it was the decision of a fool - but maybe not. He saw no other option but that of anyone in a situation they were inequipped to navigate; follow his instincts. A terrible idea, really.Kumpleto
