"Lights Out" is a horror story using the universe of Wings of Fire created by Tui T. Sutherland. It begins in the era before the dragonets of destiny, but after Darkstalkers time. The Nightwings have discovered a new kind of plague that spreads like wildfire. All Nightwings with the disease have been quarantined. Queen Warchanger has announced a research facility be built around the quarantine to find out the cause and eliminate the plague. We are taken in the perspective of a young, unnamed Seawing known as "Subject 016" in her journey as a test subject hatched in the labs. And why does she keep having visions of nothing but pitch blackness? Did something happen to her niece? And what will happen when a bully Skywing keeps making her doubt that being a hybrid is somehow wrong? Will Spirit be able to recover her regular self or will she give up and become a doormat? And how will a secret admirer come into play? Especially when Spirit begins to get more visions of strange giant creatures deep within the ocean. The origin of the evilest dragon around. Darkness. His origins are not for the faint of heart. You will understand what made him so evil. This revolves around Darkness's past and what he went through. Through some trauma and other things, Darkness will have to change. He hopes that by going to this school with his twin sister Lightbringer that he will understand more about himself. Though good things can't last forever. Darkness knows this and he will have to get over this somehow someway.
