Along the way, she crosses paths with Ronan, a brooding and enigmatic prince in exile who harbors his own secrets and a painful past. As Avery navigates the growing bonds of friendship and a tentative connection with Ronan, she discovers that the realm is in grave danger.

A dark force known as Merlith has been corrupting the land, turning creatures into shadowy abominations and unraveling the very fabric of the realm's magic.
