"You guys are the descendants of the constellation zodiacs. I know you won't believe me but trust me whe-"

"I believe you,"

"Yeah, me too. I also believe in unicorns and the tooth fairy. Oh, and did I forget to tell you? I'm half mermaid."

"Don't you bring unicorns into this, they are real! I shall prove it!"

There is a legend that, a long time ago, a dozen beings were disgraced. They were cast down to earth, banished from the heavens. The gods turned away from their pleas. They eventually blended into the crowd and lived lives as humans. They were never to be seen again. They were The Zodiacs.

However, they're just a made up story. Isn't it?

Things shake up when twelve students show up at Nova Institute Of Astrology, twelve students with 'unique' names. They seem like normal teenagers until an evil being descends upon the school seeking revenge upon them. Why, you ask?

Well, because apparently, his ancestor was ridiculed and kicked out of the being a Zodiac. Talk about holding a grudge, am I right?

A teacher leads them away from their boarding school, their normal lives and everything they know. Leads them to a large cabin in the woods. She tells them that they're magical and have powers. Okay, What?

Apparently, they are the only ones who can defeat him. That's where the big question comes in:

  Can they actually defeat him?

But, I mean, who believes they have powers right. Right?

Zodiac High is a special school funded by the government. While most schools focus on academic and physical aspects of children this school focuses on a more basic aspect within everyone. Character and personality. Character is built through having life experiences and learning from them. Personality is what is born from the choices that people make. These personalities can be put into 12 categories. Ranging from the happy-go-lucky Gemini to the all-too-honest Capricorn. The enigmatic Scorpio or dreamer Pisces. So many personalities to choose from making it difficult to know which one is the right for you. So how do you know which personality fits with who you are as a person? That's why an entrance exam was designed for those who are uncertain. The personality that you sync with at the highest percentage is the one that you will enroll as. That's basically why my mother enrolled me as a student here. She had said something along the lines of "If you continue living as you do now, you won't be able to fit in with society" or something like that, I'm not really sure. I just remember feeling unnaturally indifferent about it. That's also why I answered as honestly as possible to see if one of the zodiac personality categories fits with me. This meant that I should have been excluded, right? That I don't "fit in with society". That should have been the case at least. So can someone please explain to me why I'm compatible with all of the personalities? How am I going to make sense of that? Now I have to interview someone from all of the different categories, just to know which personality I will enroll as. Great. Just great.

We, the Zodiacs, have suffered more than other constellations and stars... much much more...» After their little adventure in Earth, the group of friends finds themselves at peace... Or did they? Ophiuchus planned an ideal hangout with each and every element group to get to know them a little better; just a little more. It was the perfect plan; training, drinking tea over pastries, going out and baking together. But before he knows it, he began exploring each and every Zodiac's dark and nostalgic past... "Are you an angel?" Virgo asked cautiously. The white headed girl looked back at Virgo and her brother. "Angels don't exist. The sooner you accept that, the easier it gets." "Then who are you?" Virgo asked, following her some more. The white headed girl had a twinge if sympathy in her eyes. "Names have power, kid. It's best you don't know mine." "Then what are you?" Virgo demanded, sick of this girls games. Her brother held onto her arm. "Most kids know us now as the monster under the bed. The demon willing to drag you to the pits of hell," the girl explained. "But there are no such things as demons and angels. Life isn't that black and white." ------------- There is a town where children are snatched from their beds in the night. There is a town where mothers fear their children are next to go. There is a town where windows and doors remained lock in fear of what may come through them in the dead of night, when nobody is a awake, when nobody will hear a scream. There is a place where monsters and saviors of fairy tales lurk. Where they live and thrive. Where there are lonely sirens, angry fae, and annoying pixies. Such place does exist, I promise, but only if you know where to look. Two children kidnapped in the dead of night. A rein of evil over the land. Twelve people who cannot stop arguing in the midst of it all. Folklore Forest is about to be overrun by a whole new crazy. "I thought I might pass out again, the only thing that kept me awake was the fact that the Sign on my wrist sizzled like oil on a frying pan. At first I thought it was just the aftermath of the intravenous drip but when I looked at it I nearly screamed. The skin around the Ophiuchus symbol, was peeling off, I didn't touch it. My wrist was red and throbbing. I don't think it was bleeding but then I saw drops of blood and quickly pulled down my sleeve, covering my hand. I never saw much of my second Sign since Granny always made me cover it up but I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to peel off of my hand." Belle's story continues as she trains at the rebel hideout, Crimsyn State. She learns to cope with her Constellations and deal with the astrological hardships of Ophiuchus. Along with a few heirs of the Twelve Major, Belle attempts to bring her friends to the rebel hideout and tries to complete the group of twelve descendants to fight against the Hydras. During her time at Crimsyn State, Belle discovers the secrets her mother left for her. She realizes there is more to the Stars and Constellations than her imagination could conceive. Includes the poem, Stars Can't Shine Without Darkness by Inaya Sohail. The cuts and bruises were too much to bear. The world around me was spinning, And the streaks of dirt in my hair. And the light never dimming. The light so bright, It felt like there were gazillion fires. I thought I might go blind For I wasn't lying- I wasn't a liar. Published-29/09/19 Completed-26/01/20
