MOON
"Just like the moon you are. Shining so bright in the darkness of the night. Reflecting one's shadow. Like the mirror, you're giving off beauty to a beauty, madness to a madness, heartbeat to a heartbeat, misery to a misery. You are nothing but my own reflection" He said, looking at me sideways. I stare at him deeply. It was so unexpected of him to say something in a metaphorical way, especially in this time of an event. "Always remember, we are under the same sky, looking at the same moon." I replied anyway... The story follows a teenage girl, stuck with her own, pathetic thoughts. Experiencing a moment of loneliness, difficulty making new friends, problems involving her family, social life, betrayal, death, and questioning her own existence. She thought her life would come to a lonely, and tragic end, yet she didn't know the day would finally come when she least expected it. She'd never knew the day would also come when she got transferred into a school she thought she'd never get to fit in, and when she got to meet this one guy, who believes no one else but himself. She fell in love but she believes she didn't receive the same feelings. Feel free to read this sad, and lonely life of a teenager. Explore the diverse world of high school romance, teamwork and friendship, slice of life and character developments this story will get you into. There's more to it than meets the eye..

My stories are organized by emotional theme, beginning with one story about emotion in general, and then moving through stories expressing distractedness, frustration, argument, love, fear, grief, sadness, humor, innocence, and self-love. About a year ago, I discovered my love for the short story and decided to build a collection of shorter works. I'm so glad I did; the variety of plots, characters, and settings I got to explore taught me so much, and I am beyond pleased with what I have to share. Life on Other Moons
"As far as I knew, my mother was the last woman alive on Earth the day her heart stopped beating in the produce section and she plunged face-first into the romaine." And so it begins... Life on Other Moons (the author's creative writing MFA thesis project) is a strange collection of short stories about people who just want to find happiness in the complicated, often harsh environments they call home. The stories touch on coming-of-age and parent-child relationships, as well as masculinity, femininity, and love in all its forms. They take place in different time periods and even realities, but careful readers will find links and even shared characters between them. IMPORTANT NOTE: One story ("Looking") may be triggering for people who are sensitive to or have experienced sexual assault. It's intended to be social commentary and isn't explicit, but the author would like you to be warned ahead of time. There's also a warning at the top of the story. This collection is being released on Wattpad for the first time to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its original limited-run print publication. It's now widely available in paperback form through Amazon. Feedback, insights, and other comments are welcome and encouraged! Big empty rooms. Yells echoing across the corridors. The stench of Mother's whisky breath. The sound of the clock in the dining hall where Father never eats, endlessly ticking away the hours without him. Sometimes, there are scars that don't go away. This is not a love story. It's not about magic and hope. This is the story of my life, for the times I had no one but the stars. _____ I clambered onto the roof, even if it was chilly for star watching. I needed a helping hand. “Why?” I asked the sky, the moon, the stars—anyone who would listen. But they didn’t answer. How childish of me, to talk to the stars, I was pathetic wasn’t I? Yet I tried again. “Help?” Nothing. “Talk to me you damn stars!” I shouted. Just then, a shooting star flew by, like a dashing stroke of paint, gone as quickly as it had come. It seemed that this was my chance. I said, “I wish someone would love me, as much as I love the stars.” And to those words, I went back into my room, my cell, and awaited my fate.Complete
