After a series of world wars, society was in ashes. So leaders started again, this time sheltering everyone from the past and its violence and suffering. To the people, everything is fine. But I know it's all a lie. Everything they think they know about who and why they are is false. So everyone is content with what they think is a perfect world. The less they know, the better. But every once in a while, someone gets curious. Too close to the truth. Which is why I am who I am. I literally exist for the sole purpose of getting rid of people that the Summit feels threatened by. But the people can't know that. So everything I do, what I know, and who I am is a secret.

"You can't rely on other people's kindness in this world. It don't exist." Normal people are like oblivious little ants, just working their way around, carry food, part of a bigger picture. People are so bland and mundane, each of them trying to be like the others. I suppose I'm no different- I'm trying to fit in too. However, a crippling obsession to avenge my only friend's death is getting in the way of that. Unrealistic Reality
There are some people who live in a dream world. A world where everything is perfectly fine. There are no fights, no pain, only happiness. These people see the bright side of everything, even the bad things in life. Then there are people who face reality. They know how much some things can hurt and how hard it can be to do the right thing. They have to make hard decisions, life changing ones. They get strangled in a web of lies, and once you're in, you can't get out. I belong to the second group and I am here to inform you that a perfect world doesn't exist. There is no such thing as 'a happily ever after.' We are all in the same game, just different levels. We're dealing with the same hell, only different devils. My devil is a killer and my game is to kill him. The only problem was I didn't know who my devil was. That's how the unrealistic game suddenly became a reality.Complete

Everything started in 2036. The pollution was so bad that the end of the world was predicted to be right around the corner. As complete panic set in around the world, the rich and important people were all gathered and placed on giant spaceships with enough resources and room to house generations of human beings. Before they left though, the government leaders fired As a result, most of the human population died off and earth was a complete wasteland. The little that survived started building local communities and trying to survive in the destroyed excuse of a planet. On the disaster of a planet, creatures mutated and were born out of the nuclear chemicals; creating new species and monsters that hunted humans. While hundreds and hundreds of years passed, the monsters kept evolving and the people kept adapting while still trying to keep a sort of community. They didn't want to lose all of their humanity and become nothing more than animals that hunted the monsters: then they would truly be no better than the monsters themselves. So they stayed civil while still doing what it took to survive.Complete

I'm your typical person; I have a wife and two kids, a dog, a cat, and live in a house in a small community in BC. I was raised on the Prairies and understand the value of hard work. I have studied business, economics, commodity trading, carpentry, and other functions within our society, all which have led me to write this story, the story of a burning son. So what is The Burning Son all about? It's a quest to change the way we perceive our global society, and an effort to change the way we look at our history and our future. Our society has operated efficiently and progressively for centuries. It's about the stories that exist, it's about the technologies that exist, it's about our world, our planet, our force, and our time.Complete
The Games
Prologue: Earth has found out they're not alone in the universe. An alien species have contacted Earth, giving them a chance to be protected by the aliens out there that threatens the universe. They inform them that there are in fact thousands of alien species out there. The alien race, who calls themselves Opsidians, offer Earth a chance at competing in the Games, a televised reality competition game they host. In order to win the protection, Earth will have to send a tribute to the Games. They know little to nothing about the Games or these alien species. But after consideration, they don't see the harm in sending one. And realise it might be their only chance.Complete
The Way It Is
I am not from this planet. Hell, I am technically not from this galaxy. However, that doesn't change the fact I am here now, and my job is to save what I can on this forsaken planet and what's left of its inhabitants. The problem is that not everyone wants to be saved. I know what you're thinking. You can't save those who don't want to be saved. I bloody well agree. The ones who sent me don't care what you or I think, though. All they care about is numbers. They need a certain success rate to continue to get funding for their "expeditions" and "peacekeeping" efforts. I use both terms loosely here. However, that's what they put on their records, and it's what sounds good and looks suitable to their investors. So this is the way it's going to be. So be it! Oh, did I forget to mention the Universe decided I was the lucky girl to help find the one person who could save us all from self-destruction?
