Catherine hasn't had an easy life. She's never met her parents. She doesn't even know her name. All she has is a fobwatch, that she doesn't dare open for fear of what she'll find inside.

She's been living on the streets of New York City since she was a little girl, so when the Great Depression rolled around, she was more than equipped. She now finds herself as co-president of a Hooverville in the heart of Manhattan, a position well suited for her. She's fiery, has insane survival skills, and a compassion for people beyond imagination.

And then came the Daleks, Martha Jones, and the Doctor going around changing everything.

It turns out Catherine isn't who she thinks she is.

It turns out, she has another personality and another life in the girl behind the watch.

Mary Perdita didn't know a thing about herself. That's not just seem deep metaphorical phrase, she really didn't. Mary Perdita is just a name that she made up. She doesn't know how old she is, she has no idea where she came from. The only thing she remembers is waking up in a dirty alleyway in London with a locket around her neck. That and the fact that she has some of the strangest dreams about the most insane things: Time ships and a planet surrounded by a glass dome...the death of two unnamed adults. Because of these dreams, Mary has knowledge of aliens races and history that she shouldn't have. Knowledge that ends up being true, as she learns when she begins to investigate strange goings on with none other than Sarah Jane Smith, which eventually leads her to the one person that might be able to figure out where she came from, why she has no memories, and why her dreams hold true other-worldly facts. Mary needs a Doctor...and luckily for her, she may have found just the man for the job.
