Gokarna is a beautiful beach city in the west coast of Karnataka in Kumta. What was once deemed as a pilgrimage centre is more than that now. Due to the incline in the number of tourists visiting the city, the place has turned into a major tourist spot. And there has been a steady increase in number of restaurants and hotels near Gokarna to cater to this tourist crowd. The best part about a place like gokarna is that you can have a fun and religious trip at the same time. It is also quite laid back and is perfect for anyone who wants a relaxed and lazy vacation. The party capital of India- Goa, is just 144 kms away and is a three and a half hour train journey. In case you have never been to Gokarna and are unaware of places to visit and things to do, here are some suggestions.

Visit, eat, and stay near Gokarna!
Visiting Gokarna for the first time can be exciting and a bit confusing if you do not know much about the place. Here are some handpicked places for you to visit in Gokarna along with suggestions on where to eat and stay:
Om beach- Om beach is one of the most popular beaches of not only Gokarna but South India. The beach is famous for its shape which mimics the shape of the auspicious Om symbol naturally. This place is a fascination for the tourists owing to its natural form. Coming to the beach, it is quite clean and not at all as crowded as most of the beaches in Goa and Mangalore.

Temples- Want to offer your prayers on the trip? No worries, Gokarna is one of the most important Hindu Pilgrimage centres and has quite a lot of temples under its belt. While it is famous for Shiva temples, there are a few temples dedicated to Lord Ganesha and Lord Venkataramana.

Mirjan Fort- Mirjan fort is a beautiful historic relic covered by lush greenery all over. The place is well known for its architecture even though most part of the fort is in ruins right now.

Kinara Stay- Though there are quite a few lodges near Gokarna, only a few match up to tourist standards.

WATTPAD BOOKS EDITION There are imperfect moments in every life-but sometimes, there are perfect accidents . . . What's the point of pretending nothing has changed when everything has? It's the last summer before college, and Jonas Avery knows he should be excited. Instead, he hides out at home, avoiding his friends, his family, and everything that resembles his old life. Because nothing will be normal again-because of The Accident, when everything started falling apart. Brennan Davis knows she needs to stand up and face her anxiety-the deep, dark, debilitating dread that rules her everyday life. Because what stops her from going out into the world and just living is going to get a whole lot worse. She's leaving for college in the fall, where she'll be confronted with even more to worry about. To get back up sometimes you have to fall down, hard . . . When Jonas crashes into Brennan-in a harmless, albeit embarrassing fender bender-the two teens connect in ways they never expected. As friends, they help each other overcome their biggest falls and faults, and soon discover that while love can't fix everything, it's sometimes a place to start. Sensitive, wry, and unabashedly authentic, The Opposite of Falling Apart isn't about finding perfection in another person or fixing the things we think are broken. Instead, Micah Good has penned an enchantingly honest novel about accepting the very pieces of ourselves that make us unique, whole, and undeniably human.
