Soulmates. A word that was once considered a rarity. Now, the term 'soulmate' isn't so rare. In fact, it's a rarity to not use the term, because now, everyone in the world has a soulmate. When you're born, you're given a silver chain with an intricate charm on it. Each one has it's own unique design and has it's single matching partner. There are the caring ones, the strong ones, the wise ones, the shy ones, the crazy ones; everybody has one. Everybody but Arin. She's one of the rare cases; one of the unclaimed. For most of her life, being unclaimed didn't bother her, but with her 18th birthday coming up and everyone she grew up with uniting with their other half, she can't help but feel lonely and empty inside. Also, besides not knowing you are going to be with for the rest of your life, there are some issues that come up with not having a silver chain. With these new found problems and rising pressures put on her, Arin sees no other choice then to go on the run and live in the Outlands. There, Arin discovers there are more to the unclaimed than she thought.
