Mackenzie is a teenager with a personality that no one quite gets. She's happy and optimistic, but nobody ever sees the depressed side of her. She's afraid to show it. However, when Jason walks into her life, her heart soars and she finally remembers what it's like to truly be happy. But she learns that love is never easy when she finds out that her best friend, Samantha, also has her eyes on this prize. On top of it all, Mackenzie has to deal with all of it alone when certain promises are broken along with hearts, friendships and minds.
