I hated the blood. I hated the smell. I hated the sparring and fighting that my "job" entailed me to do.
But it was normal for me.
Well, when they ordered me too.
Like the good little recruit I was.
I sighed bitterly and looked at the dead hell-hound.
I wiped the blood off on the blue midnight dress that was already ruined.
I saw the mortals poking their heads out of their windows, just figuring I was a mad harlot that just got out of a scuffle. They didn't care. I sheathed my dagger under my petticoat as I sighed bitterly.
I had always hated what I was, my monstrous side that put me in this life of servitude.
I just shook my head and walked down the lonely streets of Boston. I smirked at the thought of my sister. She would die when she heard-
I was suddenly pulled from behind. A cold hand locked around my throat, pinned my hands to my side, and with great strength pulled me into an abandoned store. I struggled with the fast pace of my attacker and cursed myself for being too slow. I kneed his shins hard. .
But he was faster.
He was not human. No normal mortal man could match my strength. I was just as strong as mortal man.
This one was stronger. The masked man held my wrist with a tight grip and I went for my dagger. . His arm snaked around my waist as his hip pinned my body against the wall.
"Who the hell are you!" I spat as I felt the attacker's hand go under my petticoats. My eyes widened as I felt his cool hand touch my thigh.
I screamed and spat at him.
"What the HELL are you doing-"
"Always the language, Spade. What would Mary say?"
His voice.
My breath stilled as his hand yanked my dagger out from its sheath and his hand returned with my stained dagger in his hands.
My heart sped up as my skin felt heated again. His body was pressed against mine tightly.
"Beck," I gasped out as a smile crept up on his masked face.
"No names, luv."
