The world is full of mysteries. It seems like mysteries lurk in every corner of the earth. Sometimes the secrets and the mysterious things in the world stay hidden in the darkness, but like every secret, it eventually comes out into the light.
I used to ask my mother before she died why I had to keep such a secret about our town, and the dark secrets that lurked in the darkness. It was life to me, I thought my world was the same as everyone else.
But it wasn't.
Our little town of Troy had a grand total of 5,000 people in our town. Troy had fifteen sister towns just like ours spread out throughout the world. These fifteen towns, counting mine, had the same mysterious things that should be kept in the darkness, walking in the light.
Troy and the other fifteen sister towns were different than any other village, town, or city, on earth.
You want to know why?
Because Troy, and the sister towns are part of an experiment that was established by our very own Government.
The experiment?
The experiment was having the monsters under your bed turn into reality. The experiment put these dark mysterious things that should be kept in the dark corners of the earth out in the open with humans. Like me.
Our town is ran by these dark...creatures. All the monsters that your mother or father told you didn't exist? Well they do. And they are in my town.
They are the authority, and is league with our Government.
So yes, I get what you are thinking. What actually is the experiment?
To see if humans and the supernatural community could actually live together in peace and harmony.
Ha. Humans can't even live in peace and harmony.
My name is Charlaine Belliveau. My roots are set deep in the south, and in Louisiana. No one comes out this far to my small town. Perfect location. Perfect place to keep dark secrets.

Together they work to find out the truth, but things have gotten worse over the last century and this may not only bring around the downfall of the government. Armed only the powers they were born with, the group do everything they can to discover the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. But many have tried and failed, do they really stand a chance? Remember for the Both of Us--a Maze Runner / Newt fanfiction If you're reading this, you know the story of the Maze Trials. Or really, what WICKED fed you. It's all propaganda. Well, most of it. My name... well, you can call me Hope, and I'm here to tell you the real story of Group A. The thing is, WICKED's whole plan relied on Thomas to have the ingenuity to figure his way out. What if he didn't? What if he didn't have that fateful encounter with Minho and the Grievers at the edge of the Cliff? WICKED's plan failed. Utterly. What were they supposed to do? Well, they had backup options, yes, but at the last moment they second-guessed them all. They came down to me. The very last of their last fail-safes. It was too risky to send in someone else who would forget, they said. So they put me in their Box, told me to do this and that, to guide them to a solution. I am Subject C1. The Catalyst. Or the Actress. Whatever you prefer. I'd rather you call me that than Hope. They sent me in to save Group A. But WICKED's fatal flaw is that they always assume that their human "subjects" will do exactly what they want. There was no way I was going to do what they told me to do, not if I could avoid it. So... My life was pretty normal until... 1) My mother died. 2) My dad killed her. 3) And...I lodged a case on him as he killed her. Yeah, I know. My life is pure shitty. And do you what else makes it weird and shitty? The visions I get! See, I won't even be guilty to send my dad to prison 'cause I remember nothing about him. I only faintly remember mom too. Anyways... And then some weird monster decides to attack our school and Naya goes Egyptian sky goddess. (nuts) Hehe. Soon we find out that she is a 'that "m" word'. She tells us that we are magicians too! And then (*dramatic drum roll*).....The......quest begins. There is a home land of magicians. M-O-N-A-S-T-A-S-I-A It's a whole new planet between Earth and Mars. The planet was destroyed ages ago by a group of people which we have to bring back in 5 days, else it's pieces will crash on Earth and destroy the humanity completely. And the weirdness doesn't end here. We have to defeat a 'Dark Lord' too. He was a maniacal god who became a magician with the help of another magician. We have to kill him because if we don't then, he would kill us, which doesn't sound nice (and is a bit confusing) (*wink*). *** This is the first book of Monastasia series.
