Life has been hard for Skyler. Her mother passed away when she was 10 years old, her father was abusive towards her mother and after her death he took all his rage out on Skylar. When child services found her beat and unconscious in the presents of her father they take her from her home and send her to live with her grandma in Oakland , California.
She is 17 and it is her last year of high school. All she wants to do is keep a low profile but for a kid who wears mostly black , has a nose and lip ring, and listens to GOOD music, she is always noticed. When she runs into a young Billie Joe Armstrong she finds him attractive but because of her resent events, she has trouble finding it easy to trust anyone so soon.
