Max is an orphan, he has no money or even a home. he lives on the streets, surviving of what little he can find. the people that walk past him always look away and ignore him but it's better that way, he wouldn't be able to stand their gaze anyways. Their faces are all enormous to him (being a tiny Neko) so he would be freezed in fear if they looked at him. He sits there on his little corner, watching the people walk by in this big scary world.

Everest Miller - 21, bi, a full human, lives with his 2 mom's, Olivia and Holly, works at a cafe that his mom owns, meets Kai when he comes to the cafe looking for a job, and looks a little rough. Olivia and Holly hire Kai, along with giving him a place to stay with them in the small guest house in the back of their cafe.
