Sophia Carstairs, the younger twin sister of James Carstairs. She was at the Shanghai Institute when it was attacked by a Greater Demon. It took to torturing the twins in front of their parents until their mother and father were killed. Other Shadowhunters arrived and saved them, but the damage was done. James was afflicted with an addiction to yin fen, while his sister was made mute.
After the killing at the Shanghai Institute, James and Sophia arrive at the London Institute to the warm welcome of Charlotte Fairchild, and soon to be Branwell, and her fiancé Henry Branwell. The only other children at the institute is Jessamine Lovelace, a rather sour young girl obsessed with looks, and Will Herondale, the distant boy who seems to dislike everyone.
Will and James soon become close friends and parabatai. Sophia ignores the girlish ideas of Jessamine and fills her days spending time with her brother and the young man she fancies. She is looked down upon because she refuses to conform to the idea that society has put upon females. When Theresa Gray enters their lives, Sophia is soon to find out that her life could be so much worse than what it was already.
Author's Note: This story is dedicated to my little sister, Sophia. Sophia, if you are reading this, it means that you finally followed my footsteps and became a recluse like me and spend almost all your time on this god-forsaken website. It may seem like I hate you sometimes, but I don't really.

about defiance // matthew fairchild {2}
{ snap, shatter, and howl pt. ii: being the sequel to mirror shards } Four months on from the Mandikhor attacks, Sydney Herondale is sure she's done. She's fallen in love (with Matthew Fairchild), she's starting to heal, both literally and metaphorically, from the wounds dealt to her in Romania during her travel year, she's got a flat in the City and with the mystery of her grandfather's identity solved, her research project is done and she can rest now. It's over. Or so she tells herself. You see, Sydney is magic. First that blinding rage when she goes into battle, then her strange ability to go ignored when she doesn't want people looking, and now, suddenly, she's starting to see magic, the ebb and flow and current of it like brushstrokes on Van Gogh's canvas. And if her grandfather's whispered, cryptic words are right, somehow all of these are meant to meld together to make...what? Well, she'd better find out, if she wants to make sure the magic is hers to control and hers alone. Not, of course, that anyone's making that easy.Complete

Shadowhunter Stories
The young shadowhunter Aleksa Monteverde, called Leksi, finds herself in the academy in Idris after her parabatai Annabeth Kingsmill was killed by a demon. She gets to know the kind Blake Pangborn with whom she gets along pretty well and they immediately become friends. But next to Blake there is a mysterious boy named Elijah Blackthorn who seems to hate everything and everybody. Stuck between a friend and a love interest, Aleksa is confronted with even greater problems. The Council brings the charge against her, that she wasn't present, when Annabeth Kingsmill died. They blame Aleksa for her death. While Aleksa tries everything to get over the loss of her parabatai and to get back to the institute in Montreal, she has to struggle with the Council and them wanting her to visit the City of Bones until the hearing. But her new won friends help her and Aleksa soon finds out the real reason she was held out of the investigations considering Annabeth's death and sent to Idris. The story takes place in an imagined academy, mentioned in the TMI books by Cassie. Since I love academies I had to write about a story happening here. But the story also sets in various places over the world and reunites some familiar places from the TMI books with new impressions. New characters are introduced and also some old and well-known characters will appear during the happenings.Complete
Cursed (Infernal Devices Fanfiction)
Disclaimer: all characters and main story line belong to Cassandra Clare. I only own Grace, Philip, my story plot and anything that isn't in The Infernal Devices. The awesome cover done by @GalaxyPhann! Grace Carstairs is Jem's twin sister and she too has a terrible curse that the demon who killed her parents, Yanluo, gave her. She is haunted by those couple of days in the Shanghai institute and tortured by the after effects that even Jem can't help her with. As much as he tries, nothing will stop the horrible curse that tortures his sister. This is a story of how the Carstairs twins fight for their lives whilst holding onto the people they love and the lives they used to have. This is Grace's side to Tessa's story. #1 tidfanfic - 8/6/19Complete
