20 years after the Elemental Masters of Time were defeated, peace returned to New Ninjago City (or Newer Ninjago City after further development by Cyrus Borg), or had it. Sensei Lloyd Garmadon groups together Elemental Masters together to overthrow a coming threat, an army of soldiers with the ability to shapeshift into different items. There is little time to train the new Ninja before the army takes over Newer Ninjago City.
