Jacelyn, and her family move all the way from Connecticut to Florida because her dad's job transferred his work there. Jacelyn wasn't thrilled about it because that meant leaving her friends and old school behind. She didn't like the idea of that.
Right after they get settled into their new home, problems arise in the family. Jacelyn's mom dies in the fire that ruins their home, so they are forced to bunk with the twin's dad's friend, Frank, his wife, and his two son's, Max and Andrew, and his daughter, Jordan.
Jacelyn is appalled by this especially by Max, the bad boy. Jacelyn finds him incredibly annoying with his arrogant behavior, and mourning her mom's death is just the cherry on top.
While all of this is happening, Max makes a bet with his friends that for fifty dollars, he has to date Jacelyn for a whole month.
Will Jacelyn find out the truth before the end of the month, or will Max keep leading her on? Will Max end up falling in love with Jacelyn?
