It was but a whisper, yet so profound that it reverberated in Saeren's being like the undulation of thunder in the heavens. Such was the forewarning of the Retribution-a manifestation of the spirit world's imbalance. There was also the Reconciliation; who was of the same manner of being, yet fated to restore harmony to the realms. An elusive "King of the Outcasts" becomes the mastermind behind the rebalancing scheme. As the half-brother of the face of the Retribution, Saeren is widely mistrusted. He seeks to quell the forces of his kin and restore the earth to unity through the Divine's pawn-her Reconciliation. Saeren's rise to power is perceived as a threat by the newly self-elected "King" of Istalia. Once the pinnacle of Raël, the city has fallen readily with the death of its true king and the disappearance of his scion. Saeren has an agenda to restore the wayward Prince to the throne and cause a cessation in Raël's brutal civil war.

"There is no victory. There is no salvation. There is no escape. There is only the slow, intricate, and infinite death of all things." Celestara was a world of gods and kings, of demons and heroes, of fate and prophecy. A world where light and darkness waged eternal war, always destined to return in an endless cycle of balance. Until... they saw it. The Rift. The thing that was never meant to be. The first crack in a flawless reality. Then the Thanatarchy arrived. It did not conquer. It did not fight. It did not negotiate. It simply began to erase. Cities were unmade before they could fall. Wars ended before they could begin. Prophecies rewrote themselves into silence. Even the gods forgot their own names. And now, as reality itself collapses, one man-Darius Vaelthorne-remembers what should have been. But even he does not know if he is real anymore. "This is not a war of good versus evil." "This is the unraveling of existence itself." "And there will be no survivors." A dark fantasy, cosmic horror, and existential unraveling unlike any other. If you seek comfort, turn back. If you seek annihilation, read on.
