Mary Jane considers herself a demon with a drinking problem, but John Winchester considers her to be the answer to his problems. Wanting someone to watch over his boys when he is gone, he makes a deal with a demon. This leaves Mary Jane to tag along with Dean and Sam Winchester on their ghostly adventure to find their father and kill any bad son's of bitches in their path. 

Stuck on a hunt, Mary Jane has to pretend to be a fellow hunter, which includes: hiding that she is a demon, hiding that their dad sent her, and trying to deal with her own dark and twisted path as her need for revenge looms over her. 

Not to mention her demonic tendencies and a certain Winchester.
