Truths in disguise by Beloumba

Cover by @AdlerBourbon This story is about a dystopian social experiment devised by a disturbed professor. The town of Delphnea, a seemingly medieval village, is in fact an elaborate, controlled environment designed to simulate life in a bygone era. The professor has isolated the town from the modern world by erecting an invisible barrier, ensuring that none of the inhabitants can escape. His goal is to study how people behave when stripped of modern comforts and technology, reverting to primitive instincts and medieval societal structures. All of Delphnea's residents, including Carter and his father, are unaware that they are part of this grand experiment. They believe their lives are authentic and that they are living in a true medieval society. However, behind the scenes, the professor manipulates their environment-planting false information, monitoring their every move with hidden technology, and occasionally sending in outsiders like workers or agents to fix or alter parts of the experiment. The experiment is carefully crafted to test human behavior under duress, but over time, cracks begin to show. Modern elements occasionally slip through-like advanced technology, strange devices, and inconsistencies in the town's medieval setting-leading Carter and others to question their reality. As Carter and his friends uncover the truth, they realize they are pawns in a much larger game, a twisted psychological study where escape seems impossible and the professor watches every move from his hidden control room. In a world ruled by lies, the truth is deadly

ModPark used to be a high-tech haven for thrill seekers from around the world...but that was before a series of mysterious, fatal accidents caused the theme park to shut its gates for good. Seven years later, only the abandoned property remains, a creepy reminder of the unexplained tragedy. That's exactly why Vonnie Allwick - a tech-savvy AI engineering student and diehard ModPark fan - can't wait to go there. And during her sneaky little trip, she hits the jackpot when she finds an android running the last known copy of Casey, ModPark's pseudo-intelligent mascot software. She takes him home to study him, eager to unite her two passions in a single pet project. But within a matter of days, Vonnie's grand designs of being the first to examine a famous long-lost AI are consumed by the conspiracy surrounding ModPark: her tests reveal that Casey might be smarter than anyone ever thought possible, she begins receiving anonymous online messages full of cryptic warnings, and the former CEO of the park reveals that he'll do anything to maintain his seven-year cover-up - even resort to kidnapping. What's he trying to hide, anyway? What really caused the tragedy at ModPark? And what role does Casey play in all of this? Read the full story here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01G34YR64
