The year is 2039 and the world is a very different place then it was a couple hundred years ago. The great oceans that separated Earth's great continents are gone as well as most fresh water rivers and lakes. A new world wide desert emerges and humans must either adapt or die. Fifteen year old Acacia is a shade, a human with the unique ability to control the elements. She lives in a housing complex for people like her in what once was the Nevada desert. There they learn to control their powers so to use them the right way. At least that's what they're told. But when she sees things that throw into question everything she believes in will she be able to rise from the ashes and become who she's meant to be? Or will everything she's loves turn to dust? In a world full of lies will Acacia be able to find the truth? And if she does will she be able to stop it from destroying her?

First world countries have become third world and the planet is in ruins. For one girl Eureka and her brother James life is pretty bad. They live in a horrible one room shack. James can't marry the woman he's supposed to so Eureka takes her place as Fay's Wife and James as Liam's husband. The siblings come to terms with their sexuality and the dangers of being married to creatures of the night. With people out to kill her and her marriage not going exactly the way she wanted Eureka is going to have to fight with everything she's got. She will protect things she didn't think existed. Heresy, treachery, riots, thefts, murders and revolutions. A need to for order was introduced, and brought about the leader of Zykard and seven factions of ten people. A thousand years later theres a change. An outsider appears and seemingly becomes the new leader of Zykard, bringing more hardships with their hopes. Crimson, a seventeen year old girl faces the verge of adulthood. The final trials being the only gap between her new reality. A new injection to be given to everyone after the trials. She will face the ugly second face of what Zykard really is behind the curtains. Face pain she never thought would be possible and lose what she loves the most. This book is is written in the far future were war is raging throughout the world permanently halting all innovations. Humanity wanting to finally bring it all to an end only finds one way to solve it. End humanity as we know it. Governments across the globe found that humanity wasn't what it was before and had become dark and terrible to live in, so to fix that they made a small utopia pulling in families, scientists, and important government officials to create the perfect pair of humans. Those two humans would be trained to kill what humanity has become and start it all over, so the world would be a better place. But once they make the female, they find that she is not like her partner. She has a different goal in mind than restarting humanity. This is my first book, so it may have a few mess ups but I hope you enjoy, I have worked hard to at least get this out. Women are resigned to the knowledge that if they are not married by the time they are twenty five that they never will be. They have limited choices once they are shelved. Martha chooses to go against the wishes of her family. She will spend the rest of her life taking care of her widowed Father as opposed to working and giving all her money to her younger female cousins to supplement their dowry. Fate and time has a different plan. Martha is drawn into a battle between The 19 and The Wild Roses. Two different factions each wanting to use and twist Martha for their own ambitions. Some people said he was nice, others said he was cold, the truth was no one knew. Everyone said, You're so young and handsome, why don't you find yourself a girl to be your wife, but he never answered. No one knew that Aristide was looking for someone who loved him not because of his appearance but because of his personality. He was trying to find someone who knew when his birthday was, someone who knew his name. What he didn't know was that the love he was seeking was just as lost as he was in the deserted lands not that far away. Acacia, a beautiful girl with a scarred face, her parents named her Acacia, which means abandoned. The wasteland is the place where every person who was "DEFECTIVE" was placed. Acacia was a beautiful girl who was inquisitive, she was always looking for an adventure or occasionally looking for a little trouble. She was 17 with beautiful long locks of silk chestnut colored hair and bronzed skin but a small scar on her left eye. One problem was that Acacia was a female and her birthday was 2 months away. The law of the wasteland is that all females must be wed at the age 18. Acacia loves no one other than her adoptive father because in the wasteland most people don't love at all and think of themselves to be a curse. She says she would need more time but, how will she get the time to find that love. Let's begin the story.Complete

However, not everything is what she thought it would be when she finally finds the island, and her dreams become a harsh reality. Elis turns out to be someone else, and when another man swoops in every time Maxine is in danger, she becomes confused about what love really is. The Advisors, the ten women governing the world, want to assimilate the people of the island, not knowing that those people have an extreme advantage over them. Maxine also learns that her family has been lying to her about who she really is. Ultimately, when the Advisors come to destroy the island, she must face the fact that she is the key to the island's salvation, and embracing her rapidly developing abilities is the only way to do so.Complete
