"I'm surrounded by wolves, Remus. Trust me when I say you aren't one."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  Catherine Ranes had always played everything by the book. Most Gryffindors found her to be a stuck up prick, others downright arrogant and annoying. But many didn't understand the Ranes bloodline. The eldest are first choice. Others must prove they are worthy of the throne. With being the youngest Ranes member, all Catherine knew was to follow the book and be the best. Always compete and win. No second place.
  Just be prim and proper. Stay quiet. Be little Miss Perfect. Be what people would expect a great leader to act like. Always have the upper hand. Stay ahead of everyone. That's what she was taught. Her father had been clear that she was to be the heir to the family business. From the time she could walk, Catherine was taught the importance of her pureblood lineage. If she were to be unsuccessful... Well, Catherine would have to make sure that didn't happen.
  But somehow, one person could see beyond that arrogant façade of hers. He could see a weak, afraid little girl unable to make her father proud. Wining was her only goal. Being the best was all she knew to do. But, he was willing to try to help her out of that outer shell. Because there was beauty beneath every outer monster.
[I do not own anything belonging to J.K. Rowling or the Harry Potter Franchise. I do however own the plot and my created characters I'd like to thank @Erkaroo for my cover, please go check them out if you're interested in a cover or banner.]
Attending a school meant for kids with rights he'd never have, Remus never considered socializing as an option, as a need of survival for 7 years in one of the most famous Wizarding schools in the Wizarding World. He carried classical books, normally cooped up in his bed in the attic, reading adventure stories or diaries of people who were abnormal, people who were placed in other world's and gave him the idea of what bravery looked like. Shelves of books expanded over his wall, as if they had been planted as seeds and grown by virtue of the sunlight that filled the attic room. His books were his friends, his books were his lover, his book were his personality, his books were his comfort zone. Remus' suitcase for Hogwarts was mostly covered in fragile books, the paint peeling off the covers as the binding bended easily from all the days of being read. He didn't consider this as odd - simply as bringing your friends along. It all started off as an act kindness... Remus never planned for it to turn out the way it did. He was the boy's shield and sword, guiding him as they walked a path together. He didn't plan on the boy having his own sword. He didn't plan on the boy swinging it at him. He never planned on receiving death by a thousand cuts. ‎〰・❦・〰
