Louis Tomlinson stared up at Harry Styles with teary blue eyes. He wasn't processing what the other boy was saying. He could not understand. He needed to understand. “B-but why, Harry? Why are you leaving me?"
Harry wasn't looking at him. He couldn't; if he did, he'd stay. There was no doubt in his mind. Tears he wouldn't let fall stung his green eyes. He went his pink lips and assured himself he could do this. He spoke without emotion: “I gave you everything I had, Louis. I gave you all I had. I don't feel like I'm getting any part of you in return." He took a shaky breath. He met Louis' eyes, knowing he had to come off as sincere. “I can't do this, Lou. I love you, but I can't let myself fall any deeper without knowing you feel the same."
“Harry, I love you! You know this! I've told you this!"
“Then why can't you tell me anything?!" Harry shouted, losing control and feeling hot tears soak his cheeks. Louis flinched as if Harry's pain physically hurt him. “Why won't you trust me?"
“I do--its just hard for me to talk about." Louis felt his own tears fall. Harry shook his head and turned away. “Harry!" Louis grabbed Harry's arm. “Harry, please!"
“Say something, Lou, or I'm giving up on you." said Harry without daring a glance at the sobbing boy. Louis wanted to tell him. He opened his mouth to tell him, but all that came out was a choked sob. Harry shook his head and hunched his shoulders in what seemed like disappointment.
“Harry!" Louis cried out, but it was too late. The taxi was pulling away from the emptied house as he finally got the word out of his mouth.
