Lucy and Natsu have been best friends and partners for a long time in Fairy Tail. What happens when their friendship blooms into something else? Are they ready to take the next step? Warning: Some mature scenes included but only slightly 🍋 Also, I do not own Fairy Tail, that honor belongs to Hiro Mashima. I am just a huge fan of it!

What does it really mean to be just friends? Natsu Dragneel and Lucy Heartfilia of the guild Fairy Tail are the best of friends and they are perfectly content with being just that. Lucy acknowledges that a piece of her will always belong to Natsu, but it wasn't the romantic side of her and she never thought there was anything wrong with that. And Natsu dedicates himself to Lucy without even a sliver of romantic thought. Their relationship was perfect. However, what happens if one of them gets into a romantic relationship? Natsu comes back from a solo mission one day to discover that Lucy has found herself a boyfriend. Natsu is genuinely happy for her as he sees the new shine in her eyes. And although Lucy felt awkward about it at first, she keeps her close friendship with Natsu and her new love life with Ark at a balance. But who is the name that Lucy calls in her time of need? Whose shoulder does she cry on in her time of sorrow? Lucy feels guilty that somehow Natsu is still the first person that comes to her mind. And Natsu feels somewhat uneasy that this role can no longer be his. How do they cope? What does it really mean to be just friends?
