Being a Dutch writer doesn't make you that special in foreign countries. I mean, most foreigners do NOT understand Dutch. 

You being you, not really fond of the Dutch language, you start writing English books. After a lot of tries, a book finally seems to be good enough to publish. So you do.

When you being a writer gets really serious, your life changes completely. you become more and more famous in Great-Brittain. 

Can you handle all the attention? 
Is it what you wanted in life?
