Killing of the Night tells the story of Jason Vega, a cynical boy who begins having to consider his future, following his 16th birthday and several cryptic encounters. He becomes aware of the fragility of life, and decides that in order to make the most of what little time he has, he must set out to find true human connection. However, Jason soon finds that if he wants to form bonds with some people, he may end up compromising his sense of self. His previous ideology of temperance and prosperity is gradually eaten away at, until he is merely a husk of what he once stood for. Jason's experience forces the reader to decide between two conflicting walks of life: stable longevity or carefree indulgence.
