Coraline Morales has had the perfect life. Money, cars and an exclusive membership at not one, but five country clubs. She's all set. Homeschooled and primed to go to Ivy League in 4 years. Pretty much a genius too. What could go wrong ?
On Coraline's 15th birthday, her younger sister Cassandra is found dead in the bathroom, with six stab wounds in her chest. The murder weapon is missing though, and so is the murderer. Unfortunately for Coraline, she was the only other person in the house and her alibi is so weak, a gust of wind could have knocked it over. Mummy is devastated, and Daddy doesn't really even know them enough to care but sheds tears for the cameras. Whatever are they going to do ? The Morales come up with horrifying solution to their unplanned for crisis.
Silverton Academy. Situated on the isolated Kendrick Island, it's the most prestigious, all-girls boarding school in the entire United Kingdom. Highly selective as well. What qualifies you ? It's quite simple actually. Just be the child of a rich couple (subjective, if you're rich enough, Mummy and Daddy's marital status is just a technicality) who couldn't care less about what you do, and (that right there is a really big and), commit some sort of heinous crime that everybody knows you committed but no one can prove. And, Coraline's about to make it her new home, where she will shed her past identity as a juvenile delinquent, and grow to become the well-rounded lady that society demands.
