Euphoria is a common ailment amongst those afflicted by love, Farkle knew. Serotonin and dopamine were sent through the synapses to proceed with feelings of happiness.
Yet, most times, it never affected him. His isolation had provided nothing but safety from the dangers of falling deeply in love with a girl that might show him the wonders of the world he was missing. His risks didn't go far, of course. He kept to himself, his intelligent actions never impeding into social romantic quotas he was meant to fill by his age and his good looks, but it didn't take long for the shell he lived within to break free soon after meeting Riley.
The only problem, one which he hadn't wished to address, was the fact that she had a boyfriend she vowed to marry.
And now the spiraling loop downward had him as its only dismayed passenger, and he rode it without harness, without thought, without love.
It had been 5 years since everyone graduated high school and more importantly seen Lucas. Old love festers, new love begins, and Riley, well she'd never been more confused. Rated Mature: Sexual Scenes & Mild Language
