"Stop!" His voice interrupts the girls.
"Are you insane, going with her? She's not good enough to be your girlfriend." Lily spits the word 'girlfriend' as if it is poison.
His hands mold into fists at his side, hinting at his anger.
"She's not just my girlfriend, she's my ride or die. Now, don't you ever talk to her or about her like that again or you'll be hearing from me." He shoots at her, his voice holding muted rage.
A smile I can't contain appears on my face as we watch her walk away in defeat.

Lyla Mason is labeled as weird. She avoids human interaction, and never answers any questions asked about her personal life.
She is referred to as an antisocial, a freak, a weirdo. Everybody has secrets, though nobody knows hers because nobody knows her.
