All River's life she has been in the dark, literally. She has stayed in her sister's shadow since the womb itself, completley and utterly afraid to go out of her comfort zone and taste the world around her. The opportunity for change rises to the surface of her pool of aspirations when she is accepted to a prestigious music academy, the Gustav Holst Academy for Exceptional Musicians.
When she accepts the offer, her goal is to go through high school unnoticed, only preparing for the harsh world of musicians which she wishes to be a part of. But her trail to success is bent and seemingly twisted once the strange people around her put her in situations that take her comfort zone to another dimension. With the friends that have odd reasons, the sister who takes, and a boy who should probably think before he speaks, River is sent on this four-year quest to be come who she wants to be.
