Just a year and a half ago, you worked as a military nurse in one of the top hospitals in London. By day, you tended wounded and ill, by night you spent hours upon hours studying.

You were a bargain as an employee: you went to college, you speak French, English, and German, and you're sharper than a bayonet.

Perhaps that is why the British spy agency, known as the Special Operations Executives, were quick to ask you to join their ranks when the war heated up.

You spent months training, learning how to withstand torture. You knew the workings of the military, coming from a long line of pilots and soldiers, so learning came easily to you. Now, by day you trained until your knuckles bled and your limbs shook, by night you studied case after case, looking into dead-end leads to hopefully find your breakthrough case.

Now, you are asked to go to the frontlines and get firsthand experience. Nothing beats seeing the real war. It's one thing to read about the Nazis in newspapers and through whispers, but another to see them up close.

Seven weeks after the invasion of Normandy, you are sent to rendezvous and assist American troops while you look for a lead on a top secret case.

This trip will either make you or break you. Can you show the world that you have what it takes, or will you not be able to carry through when a twist of fate sends your career spiralling downwards?

𝐀 𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐅𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐑𝐓 𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐘 When a Navy SEAL mission in Iraq goes tragically wrong, Chief Sam Lawson is left shattered-his body broken, his future uncertain. Sent home with injuries no one expected him to survive, Sam is forced to face a new kind of war: recovery. At home, his wife Allie becomes the anchor to a life neither of them recognize. She's holding up a household, raising their daughter, and caring for the man she almost lost-physically, emotionally, and in every way that matters. Healing isn't neat. It's messy, brutal, and painfully slow. There are nightmares, hospital beds, slammed doors, and more than a few moments when love has to be louder than the fear. But there are also sidewalk chalk drawings, late-night kitchen dancing, and second chances whispered in the dark. This isn't a love story that ends with a goodbye kiss. It's one that begins when everything else falls apart-and they choose each other anyway. _______________________________________ This story is inspired by the real-life strength of Navy SEAL Joseph Hildebrand, whose journey shaped Sam's character in every way that counts. Allie and the children are based on people I've personally witnessed walking through fire and choosing love again. I do not own the rights to any characters from Warfare. {COMPLETED} "now that you've had your fun electrocuting me, would you care to hop in the backseat?" ---------------------------------------------------------- Freak DNA. That's what I like to call it. The fault to my genetic code. More often than not, it's a curse. The static running through my blood gave me a name. A cruel, daunting label of a measly bug. A roach. That's what I am to them, to the government. Roach; the nameless monster with electricity for a sense and lightening as a second nature. It ruined my life, the sparking currents playing tag in my mind, running around and bumping into everything, shaking me loose. The government, actually. They ruined my life. My curse just gave them a reason. You see, the normal population with ordinary DNA, they don't know about the people like me. The roaches of the world. We don't get that kind of recognition at the camps. There, we are only one thing in the military's eyes. We are weapons and we will act like it. Everyone else out there, bathing in the goodness they don't know they've got, they don't know about the roaches their stepping on. As long as their getting closer to the sky, they don't care what they stand on to reach it. They don't know about the sparkling dreamer that's killed 7 people before her 17th birthday. They don't about the ghost of a girl peaking around corners for her entire life because even home wasn't safe. They don't know about the fighter of steel and iron sucking on his bloody lip courtesy of the wars he battles in as nothing but a shadow. They don't know about the masked villain who would do anything to see the army they lead claim the throne They don't know about us. But they will, because we will rise. And when we arrive, we will arrive violently. ___________________________________________ Started: 10.06.15 Finished: 3.17.16

50 parts Complete Mature
Avaline Baker is a young woman on a camping trip with friends when she decides to go into a museum that will change her life forever. Somehow transported into the future, Ava finds herself at the barrel tip of Nazi German soldier. Transported to their camp as prisoner, Ava is lost and confused as to what, where, and who she is with...the how part is the most antagonizing. Shortly after being saved by two American men, Ava discovers she's been placed at the center of World War Two. Surrounded by warfare and American men who have strict mindsets about women in the the 1940's, the 21-year-old feels like she has no hope of surviving. To even have a chance, Ava has to prove that just because she's a woman, doesn't mean she isn't capable of fighting to survive like the rest of them. Ava finds herself stuck in 1944, with "strange" technology called a cell phone, no way of charging it, and no way of getting home. In the midst of a gruesome and horrifying war, she finds herself questioning more than just sanity of the time period, but even her own. Hopefully, with careful and calculating steps, Ava will survive the blistering cold winters, the first-hand experience of a war, and developing a difficult bond with the men of 1st Platoon. --•--•--•-- This is a work of fan-fiction, which means I don't own practically anything. Except for Aveline Baker and some scenes. Will be based off of/follow the campaign. This work has content pertaining to difficult aspects of WW2 including blood and gore; swearing/harsh language; sexual/crude comments and actions; German POW camps; etc. Please DO NOT READ if you aren't comfortable or have too strong opinions on things related to WW2. It's a fictional story and, thus, should be treated like it. On flip side, there will humor. Especially from Zussman- we all like him. And don't forget moments from hardass Pierson...those will get interesting too. ;) ~Started on September 1st, 2018~ ~Finished September 1st, 2019~

While tortured and held captive as a prisoner of war, she became my reason to keep breathing. The force that fueled my will to fight. To survive. When I woke after the rescue to discover the life I thought I was coming home to was but a figment of my imagination, hallucinations brought about by pain, desperation, and isolation... it nearly broke me. Fifteen years since I first lost her, at last, we have a second chance. Holding her in my arms, finally feeling the warmth of her skin as she melts under my touch, is like a dream. She and her two little girls are now as essential to my existence as the air I breathe. However, just as things start falling into place, the universe steps in, threatening to take it all away. I used to think that choosing her cost me everything I'd ever loved, but now I see that in choosing her and her children, I have the chance to reclaim all that I lost. They are my salvation. My true path to redemption. Which is why I'll leave no stone unturned, why I will scorch this world to the ground if that's what it takes to save them. And when I do, I will fight to convince her once and for all they are meant to be mine, just as I was destined to be theirs. In the Broken Redemption Series, one man's vow to protect the woman he lost becomes a battle between redemption, forgiveness, and the kind of love that refuses to let go. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is Book 3 of Lucas & Emilia's Broken Redemption arc, the emotional conclusion to their story. For the full journey, start with Book 1: Broken Vows.
