Hindi alam ni Steffi kung ano'ng meron kay Nixon dahil kapag nasa paligid ito ay kusang bumabalandra ang kanyang katawan sa harap nito. Sa tuwing nasa paligid lang ang binata ay bigla lang siyang aksidenteng nasisilipan nito. Minsan na siyang naligo sa banyo nilang butas butas ang bubong at nagkataong naroon naman si Nixon sa ikatlong palapag ng katabi nilang bahay. 
Nang ikasal ang kanyang kaibigan sa La Famosa ay nasilipan rin siya nito nang hindi sinasadya. Sa ilang okasyong pinupuntahan niya at naroon ito ay palagi na lang siyang napapahiya. Sa tuwing makikita niya ito ay halos manghiram na siya ng mukha sa aso dahil wala na siyang mukhang maihaharap rito. Napagdesisyunan niyang iwasan ito nang iwasan para makaiwas sa tiyak na kahihiyan. Hindi man niya maunawaan ngunit habang tumatagal na iniiwasan niya ito ay ang binata naman ang kusang lumalapit sa kanya. Magkaganon man ay hindi pa rin nagbago ang plano niyang iwasan ito.
