Chara, abused and tired of humanity, runs away. Their destination, the forest adjacent to Mt. Ebott. Those who go to the mountain, are said to disappear, and there's nothing they want more than to disappear. Once fallen, they discover the Underground. Asriel, Toriel, Asgore, and so many others. They tentatively explore their new home, and new beginnings. How will they adjust to a world completely different from the one they escaped?
This will probably be a bunch of platonic Chara and Asriel being adorable, cute moments with the Dreemurrs, angst, kids being kids, underground shenanigans.
Warnings: This may later on deal with Chara and Asriel having conversations about suicide. It won't go into detail or be graphic, but the concept is mentioned. Chara is referred to as they/them exclusively in this story, as is Frisk. It is completely SFW, however. They're children, ya nasties.

What if there was an anomaly in the Underground? No, not Frisk. Not Chara either. Someone else entirely. How could a few measly children stand to this supposedly immortal foe and save the Underground from destruction? Is it even possible to do so? Only one way to tell... ~o0o~ Disclaimers before you start! •There is NO fanon ships. That means no Soriel, Papyton, etc. The only ships are Torgore (in the past) and Alphyne. •This is NOT an x reader. I dislike those types of stories. The reader will have no part in this, and they will not be shipped with anyone. •This exists outside of canon to an extreme. For example, Frisk is the second human and not the eighth. •There will be OCs, but only for a few humans and they still technically exist in normal Undertale. •There is a sequel. I'm planning on rewriting it after this one, as it is much more random and definitely needs it. Clanky, plot holes/retconning, etc. It's more of an OC thing, to explore them and their issues, than an Undertale thing, but it has its similarities. •There will be some explicitives. Remembrance - An Undertale Story-DISCONTNUED
Long ago, two races ruled over the Earth. Humans and monsters. At least, that's the story we all know. There was another race. Technically, they were monsters. Skeleton monsters to be exact. Humans shunned them because they were monsters. Monsters shunned them because humans had skeletons. In retaliation, the skeletons split into two different races. The Surface Skeletons and the Abyss Skeletons. The Surface Skeletons reaches out to both monsters and humans. However, when the war started, they were some of the first monsters attacked and many were killed when they fought with the other monsters. Only a handful were sealed underground but without the Sun to strengthen their bones, the skeletons suffered until they received anonymous help. Very few survived to this point and slowly, they died out. The Royal Scientist at the time and his wife tried to have children. Each time left them severely weakened. Each child dusted until the wife gave up her life to bring a great skeleton into the world. That child is the last of his kind. The Abyss Skeletons shunned all other monsters and humans, considered them all demons. Their society was alike human society long ago. Divided. They believe they are strong and emotions only weaken. The class system was rigid and they possessed a kill or be killed attitude to all other monsters and humans. They thrived underground and ended up building their society in the Underground's own Abyss. It is a shame that only their leader can reclaim their heir from the corruption caused by those demons. The barrier is broken, monsters and humans are living in peace, everyone is happy except for one person. Frisk has been getting waking nightmares about not saving Asriel. They want to save him to erase all guilt and to be with their friend. But Asriel isn't the only one that needs to be saved. Something, someone lurks inside Frisk's soul. Someone deadly and has a hunger for power, and can kill anyone they want. A/N Frisk and Chara are both gender ambiguous in this story. Chara has one objective: RESET back to when they themself fell, and save Asriel from his demise. With all the Genocide Runs the now-free Frisk goes on for them, they're able to amass a big enough collection of SOULs to do exactly that. In this new timeline, Kelsa, the SOUL of Bravery, falls into the Underground shortly after Frisk. Determined to save her only friend, Kel teams up with a mysterious flower with a face to find them and rescue them from Asriel's notorious freezing chambers. Betrayed by many, and uncertain who to trust, Kel finds herself in the midst of an iron-fist dictatorship, fighting to restore the Underground to the peaceful place it used to be. But everything changed when one girl chose to go there. And her adventure begun. Her fate lies in her hands and the underground" There charisk in this and frisk and chara are both girls as well.
