She thought she would die alone, with no friends, no family, no one to love her. She thought her death would be because of a bite, an infection inflicted by a mindless walker. But no, that didn't happen. In fact, she ended up making friends who meant the world to her, a family she could trust. Even in a world where possible death is around each corner, she had to live, to protect them. She had to try, even if it meant spilling a little blood.
