His father tries to keep him hidden because he doesn't want to be embarrassed by his gay son but in their little town of Finch, Ohio secrets don't stay a secret for long. Zander has to deal with bullies at school every day then goes home to a sister that hates him, a father who beats him, and a mother that wants to love him but is suppressed because of her husband. He struggles through life wondering if maybe he should just end it and make everyone happy. That is... Until he meets someone.
