Sixteen year old Anastasia Greene lived in a beautiful house in New York with her brother and her father, but years after her mother died, her father decided it was time to move away to Canada! Annie (as everyone else called her) hated that she was moving out of her childhood home and away from all of her great memories, but was glad to be away from what went "bump in the night". For a while she would hear things and see things at night in her home, and it scared her. Now, she has to deal with living in a new place, new home and being around unfamiliar faces. She'll soon discover that her new town isn't as great as her father made it out to be. What will she discover? Who will she be able to trust? That's for her to decide..

One final class assignment could change everything that she's ever known, and could literally re-write history. To find out the truth about her family's history, it isn't long before she's digging through old papers, books, photographs, and even travelling to Russia; not to mention getting her heart tangled up with the enemy along the way. As Annalisa finds out more and more, she's quickly discovering that once the real truth is out, her entire life will be turned upside down, and life will become much more dangerous for her, and those around her.
