Following a devastating crash, a group of teenagers find themselves forced to survive on a tropical island.
Cade and his friends are on an ecology school trip, flying from Los Angeles to Hawai'i, when the plane suffers a loss of power, and all of its instruments fail. The airplane falls to an island of dazzling blue water, golden sand, and steaming, vibrant jungles - killing half the class and all of the flight attendants, pilots, and teachers.
Now the teenagers must survive in this dangerous and terrifying habitat. Strangely mutated creatures prowl the beaches and jungles, conflict grows between the surviving kids, and the dark secrets of the island's past begin to resurface.
And beyond the terrors of this exotic landscape, there is a question that haunts Cade to his core.
Is there a reason why they are here?
Dangers rise from the deaths, death looms above all, and war threatens the survivors.
Who will die?
Who will live?
Who will survive in the Survival Zone?
When four teenagers signed up for a study of teenage reactions, they never expected their lives to be permanently changed. When the experiment leads them to be placed on a deserted island, they are forced to band together and do their best to survive. Through personality clashes, hunger, thirst, anger, and fear, the group must realize that the key to surviving lies within themselves.
