"Are you afraid of me?"
Sunlight pools around Miah, timidly trying to protect her from his darkness.
"Should I be?" She didn't look, instead she watched her feet with great intensity, but thoughtlessly. It was safer that way.
"Don't answer with a question."
She looked up at him, there was no anger or hatred in her eyes...desperation maybe? Although for what neither one could say.
"I'm afraid Alec, but I don't know what of. In this nightmare my life's become you're probably what I should most afraid of. Then why is it you're the only the thing that makes me feel safe?"
It wasn't a statement, she wanted him to tell her. He marvelled at her honesty, how genuine was even now. He knew that didn't deserve. Her. He didn't answer. Instead he asked another question.
"If you could choose to forget it all. This place. Everything you've learnt here. Me. If you could have never come, remainded ignorant of hell, of you're monstrous soul mate. Would you?"
And without a breath of hesitation she answered.
"Yes."
