Imagine you lived in a world without music. No rhythm in the way you walked, no melody to the way you talked. There never was any music. Beethoven's symphonies never happened, Mozart was never a prodigy. Music simply never existed. That's how it was for Violin Rosseau, a 14-year-old girl growing up in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1920. No one knew what music was, it wasn't even in their vocabulary, but Violin had always had something that tickled the back of her mind. Something gave rhythm to her step and melody to her voice. She's going to try to show music to the world. And the world isn't going to like it.
