Based loosely on the story of the Christmas ceasefire during WW1. In the winter of 1915, the English and the German soldiers made an agreement on the bloody Western front: For the observance of the holidays, there will be no war on Christmas Eve or Christmas. During the treaty, the two sides joined together in songs and carols, and celebrated the birth of their Lord. They temporarily became friends. They ate together and reportedly exchanged gifts. Surprisingly, there was even a soccer match between the sides. This short story briefly the Christmas truce through the fictitious German soldier William Schulz. This lively and brave young man makes the feuding enemies forget about the war when sings a peaceful Christmas song. All of this story was inspired by the song "Christmas 1915", sung by Celtic Thunder, but originally written by Jerry Lynch.

A group of friends deal with life in the trenches along the Western front. Young German soldiers sent to fight a war they were told would be over by Christmas, soon realize that they aren't going anywhere. I did as best research as I could at the time, I'm sure it is not 100% accurate. This was written several months ago based on a story I wrote in middle school. I decided to I wanted to post this somewhere just in case someone else found it, maybe I can get some feedback. I know it is far from perfect and I have thought about going back and reworking it but just have not gotten around to it.
