[ON PAUSE] The Nadir Chronicles- Book 2 The Book of Mermaids, Sirens, and Naiads "Going With The Flow Is Normally The Right Way To Go." "Water gives life. It provides sustenance and calmness. Water is a great power," the woman said. This time she had no negative emotions aimed toward me. "Although it hides terrible things and causes disasters with its force, water is a necessary part of life," the woman continued. "As someone who lives among the water, you should know that well." Kasi had lived with her parents and brother ever since she could remember. Though she knew she was not related by blood, they treated her as an equal in their family. She appreciated that deeply. Unfortunately, an incident occurred early in her life that nearly caused her to drown. Ever since that day, she had a deep fear of water. That fear followed her everywhere. When she started having strange dreams where she loved water, she began to panic. She was more than just unsettled. Her family became increasingly worried as she entered a state of mental disarray. Her behavior became erratic. Thankfully, someone appeared in her life who helped her cope. But that person also took her away from the family that knew her so well, claiming they could help her find salvation. Kasi decided to leave with this person to find peace despite her family's discouragement to do so. To know who she truly is, she must face her greatest fear: Water. [Please take note: There is murder, death, gore, and blood in this book. If you are not comfortable with such scenes, please do not read. There are no sex scenes. They will only be mentioned. Atlantis was the first city to sink. Hundreds of cities followed, and millions of people drowned, swallowed by an unforgiving ocean. It seemed as if half the world was underwater. Among the few survivors was Ayesha Akhdir. In a post-apocalyptic world, Ayesha must navigate visions and voices, discovering abilities she can't explain. Ayesha soon meets others who have survived, each with their own unique abilities. She doesn't know why she's survived or what her purpose is. She doesn't have long to find out. "Just as the wave prepared to crash down and engulf the land, swallowing everyone on it, blinding pain erupted in my head, sending me staggering away from the window. Before everything fell black I heard a familiar voice roar in my mind. 'THE BEGINNING IS NIGH!'" The Beginning of what? WHAT READERS ARE SAYING "I love the Description and imagery..." Some of the lines are the same for reasons that do mesh with the canon text.*
