Forced by unavoidable circumstances to leave her beloved African home, seventeen year old Donna Imani travels to another country thousands of miles away to live with the mother she had only seen in photos and heard stories about. As she struggles to fit in the new family and adjust to the new school, her path crosses that of drop dead gorgeous Anton Rays whose good looks attracts both girls and boys in Westlake high school. But does Donna stand a chance with Anton and is the new mother everything Donna had always thought she would be?
For Anton, life couldn't possibly get any better. With his parents away, he had a whole mansion to himself with everything he needed, looks to get any girl in his bed (not that he was particularly interested) grades to make any parent proud and a hundred thousand dollar sports car to his name. Everything was perfect, his only job was to look after his younger brother, until this skinny brown skin girl comes his way and makes him look over the dictionary for the meaning of the word love.

Camryn has always been bullied. Not just at school but in her own home also by her stepfather. Ever since her father passed when she was five years old, a couple years later, her mother got remarried and he saved her family financially. Any time she had ever told her mom about the abuse, she would tell her to suck it up. karli has recently been accepted to a school that she has always wanted to go and someday to become an author. There's only one problem, the other roommate, that happens to be the cousin, of a 'bad boy' type of guy and who actually pays most of the rent comes home and doesn't approve of her. He's an asshole and has quite a reputation. He's used to getting what he wants. But what if she isn't like the others? What if she doesn't give in too easily?
