Evie was a girl who was made of ridiculous decisions.
She was the threads of gossip filtering through the Town's citizens.
She dazzled the Town with her boisterous nature and seemed to fit perfectly with the other odd citizen in the Town: Joel. Quite quickly, two of them proved that they weren't going to hide away in a crowd of bland everyday people that were controlled by a higher power. This high power was known as the Lordess. It prowled the lands of the Prized and held everyone by their strings (and perhaps a couple secrets).
The Lordess had always observed civilization with little interest until Evie tried to rip from its grasp. And, eventually, on a stormy day in early winter, the Lordess no longer found Evie's rebellious little stage humorous. It became a troublesome problem that it had to eliminate at the very center of the source.

Thrown into an adventure of wits, heartache and shock, Evie and Joel partake on a quest to rescue their friend from dangers they never expected to face. While seeking them, they discover things that had seemingly buried themselves in the walls of the Town long ago.
And their only hope to salvage what was good in their world was to turn towards where Evie began.

author's note:
hey guys! I decided to republish this because I remembered where the plot was going and thought it'd be fun to practice writing again. I changed it up a bit and will probably keep adjusting it, but I'm slowly making progress//republished May 11th, 2019
