The dull ache in her heart didn't cease to exist as she started a new school with new people. Evelyn had to plaster a fake smile on her face in order to seem like a happy, outgoing regular teenage girl.

Of course though, it's just her luck when she accidentally pushes the schools 'bad boy's buttons in the wrong direction, and he sets out to make her life more of a living hell than it already was.

The Bad Boy Next Door "She promised herself she wouldn't fall for him - the boy with secrets in his eyes and sins on his hands. But promises were made to be broken." Evelyn Quinn has always preferred to stay in the background - quiet, careful, and a little too good at keeping to herself. So when her family moves to a new neighborhood, she promises herself this time will be different. A fresh start. A chance to belong. But new beginnings are never as simple as they seem. Between the pressure of fitting in and the unfamiliar faces at her town, Evelyn's world feels like a maze she can't quite navigate. That is, until she's introduced to her cousin Emily's group of friends - loud, confident, and nothing like her. Then there's him. The boy everyone warns her about. The one who's all sharp smiles, late-night rides, and secrets he never talks about. He's reckless and magnetic, the kind of trouble that pulls you in before you even realize you're falling. At first, Evelyn tells herself it's just curiosity. A crush she'll outgrow. But the more time she spends around him, the more she sees a side of him that no one else does - a side that makes her heart race and her guard crumble. Soon, she's caught between the girl she's always been and the girl she's becoming - between safety and danger, right and wrong, heart and reason. Because some people come into your life to teach you lessons. And others? They change you forever. Will Evelyn's new life help her grow into who she's meant to be... or will it lead her down a path she never saw coming?

Highest rank #27 in Teen Fiction. Written by @apricitys. _ _ _ "What is this?" He asked, not even bothering to look at the canvas in front of me. Instead, his eyes were locked in mine. I swallowed my saliva, chills running down my spine. I felt my palms getting sweaty as my legs nervously started bouncing up and down. Without giving me time to answer, he took a step closer to me, eyes still locked in mine. Each time he inched closer, I used my right foot to slowly push myself and the stool back. It seemed to be the only option to get away from him; until he forced his hands below the sides of my thighs, holding the stool in place. He released a soft chuckle as he eyed me from my eyes, down to my lips. "You're beautiful," he said. From his voice, I couldn't tell if he was being serious, or messing around. It sounded sincere, however there was a smirk on his face. The smirk that he always has on his face when he's found an amusing target. Then he averted his attentions back to my eyes. His expressions softened up the moment his eyes landed back on mine. His smirk disappeared. I cleared my throat and broke the eye contact. I looked down at my palms as I rubbed the sweat against my jeans, "What do you want, Landon?" I asked, almost whispering. I felt his hand brushing against my right cheek, as he tilts my chin up to look back at him. His messy brown hair, his light blue eyes and his pink soft lips were just centimeters from mine. I felt his breath lingering on the upper tip of my lip. In a panic, I pressed my palms against his chest and push him off. He stumbled back with a surprised look on his face. "Aubrey." _ _ _ Landon Carthy is an arrogant boy, who knowns to have absolutely no care in the world. Making girls suffer feels great to him. But what happens when a new girl in town becomes one of his victims? Will she allow him to walk upon her like all the other girls do?

In the state of Pennsylvania, nineteen year old Evelynn (19) was a bit of an outcast. Its her senior year and she did her best to fit in at school but being the black sheep of her family didn't make her life any easier as it was hard to confide in the ones who raised her whereas her younger sister was perfect at everything. School, making friends, the student council president, and dating the most popular jock in school. She tended to keep to herself, at school and at home, it hurt her heart feeling like she couldn't find her place until one evening on her late night jog, Evelynn can feel eyes watching her and by the time her gaze fell upon the shadow figure, she woke up in a ditch on the outskirts of town, her clothes bloody and all her senses strengthened times a hundred. Wanting to go home, things are not as easy going as she hoped, and now, she has her families blood on her hands. Lost and no longer sure what to do, Evelynn runs, to where she doesn't know to which she finds a school that was created to help those like 'her' and then she meets the woman who she knows by her scent alone, but what's odd is that despite never meeting in her life, the woman recongizes her as someone dear to her. Though, Evelynn's biggest concern was, who did this to her and why? COMPLETED, CURRENTLY EDITING/PARTIALLY REWRITING (please excuse the mess. Some of the plot is being changed so there might be a few areas that get confusing, nothing too much though) Funny how life decides to act like a roller coaster. The ups and down come in a split second. You can't decide whether you want fast or slow. Dangerous or steady. But you don't get a choice. You go with the flow. No matter what. I'm Phoenix Wood, the misfit, and outcast of my town. Instead of a roller coaster my life's more like a train wreck. My adventure loving parents were lost at sea and I was left to my aunt Clare Small. Like I said, train wreck... Not roller coaster, TRAIN WRECK. Not to mention the fact that I end up stuck with the bad boy. Could it get any worse? Secrets unravel and life gets a bit more complicated that it used to be. But it must go on. She's stuck with the bad boy. Or is it the other way around? Maybe he's stuck with the bad Girl... * WARNING: this book is my first work, it'll be a bit rough at the start and sometimes I'll accidentally mess up the story line or it will seem ridiculously stupid, so read at your own risk (I will admit, this book is like my baby, so please be kind when correcting my errors). It gets much better about half way through. If you'd like to read a book of mine that is much better written, go to my profile and find the book Breathe Me. Thanks! (Seriously though, there's a TON of mistakes, some made because I'm currently editing, so the story line could get confusing in some places) Originally published: 2 / 13 / 2014 Completed: 1 / 9 / 2017 Finished Editing: (Not finished yet) Highest rank: #303 in Teen Fiction (1-10-2017)
