Nick Fury, director of S.H.I.E.L.D., is interested in the infamous Amber Black in his hunt to assemble a team with abilities like no others to help protect the world. Being a hitwoman is not something someone would expect under a profile of an Avenger, but when a world-threatening event is on the horizon, everything goes. And when a certain Asgardian god of mischief shows up and she's assigned to interrogate him, chaos ensues and...well, there's a reason they say there ain't no rest for the wicked.

~~~~~~~~~~~
"Yeah, well, another unheard of thing is you keeping your mouth shut, asshat."
"How dare you speak to me that way?!" He roared.
Amber stopped stirring the pasta she was in the midst of making, took the spoon out, and placed it ever-so-gently on the stovetop. She slowly turned around to face the furious Asgardian, slightly ticked off herself.
"We're back to this? Really? Can't get past your ego for one goddamn second, huh?"
"I don't think my ego is the problem here, Black."
~~~~~~~~~~~

DISCLAIMER: I don't own any of the characters except for Amber or anyone affiliated with her who isn't part of the Marvel Universe. All credit to most of the storylines and other characters go to the MCU.

After 62 long years of serving Hydra, the dangerous female assassin had finally escaped their unforgiving grasp. She was left with nothing. No name, no memory of her life before Hydra, no friends, and no home. The only thing she had was a mission: Find out who she was before Hydra by any means necessary. Three years after leaving Hydra's facility for good, she finds herself in containment on one of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s aircraft carriers after a break-in attempt in one of their top-secret facilities. Director Nick Fury has everything she needs to remember who she used to be, and he knows it; however, with the God of Mischief threatening war upon the entire planet, Fury is desperate to collect a group of the strongest and most capable men and women in the world to save the planet from the inevitable alien invasion. And so, a deal was proposed. She must fight alongside Fury's army of six to stop Loki, and in return, she will be given every file and piece of information that he has on her. Although she is reluctant to take orders yet again from another large organization, it is the last shot she has in completing her own mission. She intends for this to be her final battle, but she could never have predicted that her time as Hydra's deadliest assassin was only the beginning of her story. Ever since she was little, Kate Carson's favorite thing to do was learn. And, after losing nearly everything and gaining a power she never wanted, she had to learn to adjust -- and she's still learning. The other Avengers have no scruples against forcing their way onto her list of loved ones, ready to help her get back to where she needs to be. Sadly, as hard they try, they can't, not fully. She needs something else, something she's too guilty to turn to. Bucky Barnes should be dead, and, according to most, he is. But Kate always refused to believe it -- and she's later proven right. He's working with Hydra against his will. But even when he escapes, everything he did for them weighs on him heavily, and he can't get rid of that burden. He feels he deserves it, anyway. When this pair cross paths and realize they're in the same boat, together, they might be able to get to the place they need to be. They might be able to finally live how they're supposed to. And, maybe, they'll find a type of love they never imagined. ~_~_~_~_~ She sits there, looking around at the toddlers she's supposed to be saving the world with - because Fury, in his great and stupid wisdom, decided to put Kate on that list. She told him no, he told her they might not even need it; she told him to take her off, that she was just a scientist, but he told her they'd need a top scientist in their corner; she told him no one on that list needed her, that they would be just fine without her, if not better, and he told her this was the best way she could use her powers if the need arose. Powers. Here, in the field, that's what they are, aren't they? That's what Coulson says. That's what Nat and Clint say. The one place they need destruction. But Kate doesn't want that. She never has. But she took her own choice away. And that infuriates her.

She realizes that the Winter Soldier is Bucky, the love of her life. She has to save him, I mean she does owe him her life. She turns to the last people she wants to, the Avengers. They agree but don't trust her. They save Bucky and see who he was and who she was. They then ask them to join the Avengers. Bucky declines the offer, wanting to live a normal life, but Elizabeth doesn't know if she should join her her brother, fighting evil with her unnatural powers, or stay with Bucky, living a sort of normal life. "I'm guessing you're here to try and recruit me? Again?" I ask him patiently. I believe this is the fifth-time Nick Fury has come calling. Each and every time I have turned him down, but eventually he comes back and proposes the same thing. "No, I'm here to see if you'd like some girl scout cookies. The Samoa's are selling really well this year." Nick sasses while giving me his signature glare. I smirk. He's a sarcastic jerk, but he is funny. "Oh, well in that case..." I start and trail off, knowing it'll make him even more frustrated. He huffs and my smirk grows. "Why do you want me so bad?" I ask, honestly wanting to know. I watch Nick as he sighs deeply and clasps his hands in front of him. "Your skill set is equal to the best that we have. You would be an invaluable part of the team." He explains, but he knows that isn't what I mean. We stare at each other for a moment before he sighs again. "Your history only makes you more of an impressive subject." He continues and I groan. "The point is that you would help put an end to what happened to you, on a global scale." He says. "Think about it, Shifter." Nick drops a folder on the concrete and starts to walk back to the exit of the roof. I flip through the folder lazily, barely skimming the papers, but I know all of the names already. Once I've gone through most of it I stop and toss it in the dust behind me. Reading it was useless. I wasn't made to be any sort of hero. I DO NOT OWN THE AVENGERS. ONLY THE CHARACTERS AND THE SITUATIONS I CREATE.

Y/N Y/LN has been part of the Avengers since the start, she's battled against Loki, Ultron and Hydra. Now the team is her family and everybody loves her. One day the whole team disappears for a mission, half of them come back the next day, two weeks later the rest of the team, minus one. No one wants to tell her what happened. Steve Rogers, her best friend, comes back three whole months later, with a new guy: Steve's childhood best friend Bucky. That's when she finds out that her family has been in a Civil War, all because of Bucky. Tony still can't see past the Winter Soldier, but Y/N can't help but see the broken man full of pain and empty of memories. - For the sake of my own sanity in this story Infinity War and Endgame do not happen. Also Pietro didn't die, Asgard did not get blown up and Loki is an Avenger. Scott also is an Avenger so let's pretend Cassie and her mother and the Pym family all live in New York :) - "You shouldn't be here..." he says quietly. He's still avoiding your question, so instead you ask "Why not?" "I could hurt you..." he says in a small, sad voice that breaks your heart. "Would you hurt me?" you ask. He frowns and almost immediately says "of course not" still very quietly. You give him a reassuring smile and say "Then I'm not worried." he finally looks up at you and gives you a small smile. - This was my first story so I'm sorry if the writing is not too good, I'll get better I promise. Also, English is my third language but I try my best, if you find mistakes feel free to point them out. - #38 in avengersfanfiction 01/08/2024 - I do not own any characters except for Y/N and any other character of my creation, all the rights belong to Marvel.

It's been almost two years since the defeat of Thanos & the effects of the snap was successfully reversed. The world has slowly picked up the pieces & everyone worked hard to resume their lives right off where the Decimation left them hanging. Some succeeded, as easily as pressing the play button after putting a movie on a long pause, while some were never the same again despite regaining everything and everyone they have lost. The Avengers were the lucky ones. Lucky enough to go back to their normal or fortunate enough to be given a fresh start. Tony & Pepper got married & jetted off in a private island to finally start their long overdue family life. Sam moved back to D.C & resumed his work at the VA. Rhodey continued working as a military consultant & Wakanda has never been more occupied as it became the number one tourist spot in less then a year. Clint went back to retirement tugging Wanda along with him to his farm where Laura welcomed her with open arms. Thor & Bruce were off-planet helping the remaining Asgardians settle on a new home. Fury rebuilt his super spy network with Maria overseeing operations at the Avengers Facility, recruiting, training a new breed of response team. And Steve finally got Bucky back & they have spent the past year back in Brooklyn, traveling the world once in a while & even participating in USO tours and fairs. Everyone tried to move on and rightly so because at the end of the day, that's pretty much what's expected of everyone after any tragedy. Natasha, too has moved on. The only problem is, she chose to move on alone. * I don't own any of these characters or wish to infringe on any copy or intellectual rights. I'm just someone who has a deep love for the MCU that I can't help but try to keep the story going, keep these characters alive in more adventures, especially with 'endgame' hovering, looming over us.*

When new intel comes through about a Hydra weapon, the avengers split into two teams, one checking out a new base, while the other scours an old one. It's no coincidence that the intel comes through, and they find files about experiments done to one person. The work together to find out all they can, not realising that they are being watched by the very soldier herself. After an attack on the compound, which leaves quite a few of the team shaken, one avengr in particular is intrigued by the univited guest now residing in the holding cells. Who is the masked assailant, and why is it, she listened to him? **** The soldier begins to remember her past, fighting against all the Hydra conditioning, to remember who she was. Why does one of the men stand out? Who is he, and why does she have an overwhelming need to protect him? She knows Hydra will stop at nothing to get their soldiers back, but will she submit to Hydra or fight for right to live free? With lives on the line, sacrifices will be made, but who will live and who will die? ⚠️ Trigger warning ⚠️ Will contain swearing, adult themes, torture, abuse, smut, violence and depression. "...Let's do a head count, here. Your brother, the demigod; a super soldier, a living legend, who kind of lives up to the legend; a man with breathtaking, anger-management issues; a couple of master assassins, which one has kick-ass powers probably even stronger than his highness, and you managed to piss off every single one of them." Tony eyed Loki as he pointed a finger at him, making his argument. "That was the plan." Loki stated as he smirked at Tony. Tony shook his head. "Not a great plan. When they come, and they will, they'll come for you." "I have an army." Loki retorted as he glared at Tony. "We have a Hulk... and Penny Monroe." _____ A war is on the horizon and Earth's Mightiest Heroes must come together and fight as team if they are to stop Loki's mischievous plans to enslave humanity with his alien army. Whether you believe in reincarnation or not, Penny is her own person. Just as curious and entertaining as her aunt, Penny, codename: Black Mamba, has her own goals, family, and attempts to take on the world while trying to be the best friend, mother, daughter, and person she can be. This novel is the second of the MONROE series that follows the plot of Marvel's The Avengers. Disclaimer: I do not own any of the Marvel, MCU franchise, or its characters.
