A choose your own adventure story set during World War 2.
You find yourself as a prisoner working on the Thai-Burma Railway. Here you're confronted by death, hope, hopelessness and the ability of choice.
It's a relatively short read with the options of four (4) different endings.

You stare up at the darkened sky, a few stars shimmer above brightly and unaware of the horrors which surround you. They seem so beautiful, so peaceful and yet so out of place. You watch as the surrounding clouds slowly start to cover the shimmering stars and decide instead, to look out into the shadowed jungle ahead. Past the guards and fellow prisoners, you watch the dark jungle sway lightly.
It's impossible to know whether you would survive out there.
It's impossible to know whether you would survive in here either.
But you know one thing you're certain of...
You'd rather die free...

While it is far from easy Taylor surprises everyone by how well he comes to terms with his punishment and makes the best of it NOTE- This isn't going to be a story with a lot of violence, punishment fantasies or BDSM or anything. I have that in some of my other stories. I've decided to do something different here. When people get sent to prison the loss of freedom is the point of the punishment, not to be sent there to be punished more, to be sent to stay in a building and not allowed to leave is the main point.And not to leave ever until death is very tough. How does a young man come to terms with such a thing? Boredom is also a big part of prison so how will Taylor keep himself busy and fill the time? I enjoyed writing and playing this scenario so much that I decided I wanted to share it with even more people, going back to a traditional dice-casting system for all tests and combat. From as far as the gaze would travel, there were piles and piles of corpses. The battle field was strewn with limbs and carcasses of men, horses and elephants. The stench was unbearable and overpowering. The color of Daya river had turned crimson red from the blood of fallen soldiers and beasts of war. In this silent and completely devastated landscape, Asoka was taken over by a deep sense of grief, guilt and sadness. What have I done, he cried, with hands outstretched towards heavens, begging for mercy.... John woke up with a start. Cold beads of sweat trickled down his face and a shiver ran up his spine.
