Start Date: September 16, 2017 End Date: August 1st, 2018 Shapeshifting has always been around us but we've chosen to remain ignorant to the signs we've been left with. But in reality, it has thrived not below us but within us and around us. We continually turn a blind eye to the treasures hiding in plain sight. At the age of fourteen, if you are suspected to be a shapeshifter, you are required to go to Vale, a school. A school like this was hidden from the world under ground. Once at the school, you are sorted into to teams of eight to fifteen students. Each team is given a quest to complete instead of completing an exam. If the quest is not completed, you do not advance to the next year. With tensions running high between the Shapeshifting Clans, this is not easy. At the last minute, a group of nine students is thrown together to form a team. And they don't exactly get along. Lark Tanning has just discovered her powers and is still exploring the peculiar aspects of her predicament. She struggles to understand why she of all people is put to lead the team's quest... and so do the others. Harper Magdalena has known she could shift into a bird since the age of five when she fell off the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. She'd never told a soul until one August day when a boy accidentally stumbled upon her shifting. When she's offered a place at Vale, she's amazed to learn she isn't as different as she thought. Lance Taylor is an arrogant boy who's known it was his destiny to go to Vale since he was able to walk. He's anxiously awaited the day of being assigned a team and quest. He can't wait for when he's chosen to lead his team through their quests... until he finds out he won't be. The team has a bumpy road ahead and if they can't learn to work together, they could very well fail the quest but much more is at stake than that. A mysterious voice has been edging their way into some shifters' minds and no one can figure out who it is or what they want.

What if you discovered a world like no other, but knew no way back? And yet, the only way to stay- and survive- was by leaving your past self behind, body and mind? From a small town on the panhandle of Florida, Kylie and Celeste are two fraternal twins tired of being bullied; Beatrice is an embittered fourteen-year-old dissatisfied with her home life; and Mina is a young, yet astute girl determined to uncover a family mystery long forgotten... The four girls, whose paths would have never crossed, find themselves in the midst of a mysterious railroad tunnel. With an inkling for adventure, they enter, only to emerge in a world straight out of a fantasy novel, a country called Alysia. It isn't long, however, before they find themselves in the middle of a decades-long Civil War between the forces of Heaven- Arcadia- and Hell- Abaddonia... and realize that going home isn't going to be as simple as they believe. The road home would be more than just a yellow brick road traversed in ruby slippers; in order to survive, they will have to grow up- in more ways than just one. With no other choice, each finds herself wrapped up in the adventure of a lifetime as, together, they fight to stay true to themselves. For Kylie, Celeste, Beatrice, and Mina, it would indeed be a while before they could ever turn back. A/N: Thank you to everyone who checks out my story. I hope that you enjoy following these girls as they go through each of their own journeys. ~Cover design by me~
